Had a catchup with Dr LM today.
He suggested Moogoo for the burns (which I'll get to in the next post).
He said I'd possibly have fatigue from the nuking for up to 3-4 weeks, but I haven't really noticed that (other than the usual insomnia).
I think he said my tumor was 60-100% receptive to estrogen, which comes not just from the ovaries but also from the liver, fat, other glands. And I think he said it was 1-10% receptive to progesterone, which comes from the ovaries. So he's going to put me on Letrozole, which is an aromatase inhibitor, to block all the hormones. He reckons 2-3 out of 10 people will have no symptoms, 4-5 out of 10 will have mild side effects, 1-2 out of 10 will quit because of the side effects.
So the most common side effects:
- hot flushes - what else is new, suggests veoza if it gets too bad
- joint stiffness and aches - suggests doing stretches/yoga/pilates etc
- vaginal dryness, itchiness
- depression/mood swings
Long term..
- issues with bone density - need to do a bone density scan before I see him next (in January)
