The Third Poisoning

Tuesday 19.8.25

Got to sleep ok but awake from ~4:30.

When we arrived at Icon the boom gate to the parking area was broken (it wouldn't open to let us in) so I had to call them and then they had to try and figure out where we were.  Finally we could get in, and I stayed on the call as another five or so cars followed behind us.  Ended up being a few minutes late.  Not really a big deal.

At 9:46 I had my akynzeo.  I really hate that thing.  Although I guess the alternative would be worse?

They took a history of my past few weeks.

Then they tried to get a cannula in.  They wanted to avoid my right hand because of the docetaxel burn and the redness on my hands.  But forearm veins are a lot harder to find didn't you know?  So Le tried FOUR times in my right arm :(  Two of the holes started bruising straight away :(  In the end they went for my left hand and got it in first go (around 11:00).  I'm not really meant to do stuff on my left arm because of the missing lymph node.  Note to self: drink more water next time.

At 11:10 they started the docetaxel which went for an hour, then the slow flush then the fast flush.

At 12:23 was the cyclophosphamide for 35 minutes followed by flushes.

Poison round 3

They suggested using Fess for my oozy nose to keep it hydrated.

I got lunch there again but near the end of it I was feeling a bit queasy, and struggled to finish.  I know Fiona had said their lunches weren't great, but I think that's more related to the treatment affecting things.  A simple toasted sandwich is hard to mess up.  Unless your guts have shut down thanks to akynzeo.

Visted the chemist on the way out for more steroids and out the door 13:35.

From Icon we went straight over to see Dr LH.  We actually stopped in at the cafe opposite because we were slightly early.  Stu went to do some shopping while I went in to see Dr LH, but she was running late so Stu was actually able to join me.

Home around 15:20.
