Have had Peter over tonight. We were going to get Dumpling Inn, but they were closed! :( So got Turkish, but it was pretty average. Pity I'm going there for lunch on Friday too. hrmm.

Apart from the games night on Saturday night (only ended up playing one game - Ticket to Ride, which I won, and didn't end up getting to play Carcassonne at all), and going to Annie's to see the family on Sunday for a roast chicken lunch, I didn't leave the house at all. Best kind of weekend really. Watched a couple of epic movies (The Ten Commandments and Lawrence of Arabia), organised, tidied, and cleaned.

I disturbed a colony of ants today. I was moving a planter box, but they'd setup shop underneath it. So they spent the next little while grabbing all their eggs to take them underground!

White Chocolate Blueberry Cheesecake

So I've had ~300g of blueberries in the freezer for the longest time. And decided I really should use them. And some butter that's been in the fridge a while too. The obvious solution to this problem? A cheesecake! No, really :)

I googled some recipes and found this one on taste.com.au.

I changed the base (I used my regular biscuit base - a crushed packet of Nice biscuits and 125g melted butter).

I took it along to the games night on Saturday night where it was well received. So will have to try it again some time :)

White Chocolate Cheesecake

Ingredients

Method

Biscuit base:

250g pack Arnotts Nice biscuits, crushed

125g butter, melted

Crush a whole pack of Arnotts Nice biscuits to breadcrumb size

Melt 125g butter

Mix butter into biscuit crumbs

Spread mix a greased springform tin

Refrigerate to set

Filling:

2x 250g packs cream cheese, room temperature

180g white chocolate, melted

185mL can light evaporated milk

1/3 cup caster sugar

1 tsp vanilla essence

2 tblsp boiling water

3 ½ tsp gelatine powder

Sprinkle the gelatine over boiling water in a heatproof bowl. Stir until dissolved. Set aside to cool slightly.

Melt the chocolate and set aside.

Using an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until smooth.

Gradually beat in evaporated milk, chocolate and gelatine mixture.

Pour cream cheese mixture into pan.

Cover and refrigerate overnight or until set.

A long time ago it was Easter tradition for The Ten Commandments to be aired on TV. Like nineteen eighties long time ago.

(Found this on IMDB: Every year since 1973, American TV network ABC airs this film on Easter, or Passover. In 1999, when for some reason ABC chose not to televise it, they received numerous irate phone calls from people accustomed to watching it every Easter than they have for any other film they have ever telecast. )

Tonight I thought I'd watch it again. Far out it's a long movie :)

Since the beginning of the year, comment spam has been getting past reCaptcha. It comes in waves and it's actually been relatively quiet recently.

But got one today spamvertising "www.topwritingservice.com" that was somewhat amusing.

Term papers completing utilizes a lot of time. Why loose time? This is more easy to buy essay and take a break.

So you're a "top writing service" but can't even spell "lose" correctly or make any grammatical sense at all? I'd love to see your quality writing if you can't even spell correctly in your spam.

I guess the only people that would ever use a service like that would be those that are too stupid to know the difference between lose and loose. And so they get what they deserve.

I hate clothes shopping. I hate bra shopping. I hate having no fashion sense whatsoever. I hate my stoopid body and the fact that *nothing* looks good on me or fits well. I hate clothing alterations stores that charge more to alter something that the something is actually worth. I hate sellers on ebay that lie in their product descriptions so you end up buying totally the wrong thing. I hate having to call strangers. I hate mess. I hate Optus' coverage in Canberra.
