Located on deck 8, The Verandah is an alternative fine dining restaurant. We opted for a lunch at $20pp surcharge (it's $49.95pp for dinner). While the restaurant itself has a lovely ambience, the view is to the pool on deck 8. But you can't really see the pool. You just see people wandering around in bathers. Ok if you're into that sort of thing I guess...
Anyways. We had a lovely lunch there. The husband thought it was the best food he'd had on the ship. I had a deconstructed beef bourgignon which was awesome but *huge* for me. The wine list is different to the Britannia Restaurant, and the prices also start a lot higher. I had to ask the somellier what to have with the beef because the wines were listed by region not grape (or at least grapes I'd never heard of) so I had no idea what was what.
