Zombie Day

| | Comments (0)

Been having altogether too many of these.  Woke up at 4:30 and never got back to sleep :(

But backing up a little.

Had a nice quiet weekend.  Did pop out on Saturday for fish stuff, uni to borrow a book for the sweetie and food shopping.  Other than that mostly just Lego and house bits.  Didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, but did get some things done.

Saturday night we watched The Fellowship of the Ring.  Started a bit after six, finished about 10:30.

Last night we went over to EffanC's in the afternoon and chatted for a while, then had a lovely dinner, then watched The Disaster Artist.  So well done it was cringe-worthy heh.

So yeah crazy busy week.

I finally finished the thing I'd been trying to finish all week late this afternoon.  And then it was home time.

There was leftovers.  And TV dinners.  And Wonder Woman.  And the Princess Bride!  And David Thewlis!

Not so Trivial

So I've spent a heap of time in the last few weeks working on the next work trivia night.

It was due to run tonight.

Except we only had five tables paid up by 11am.

So we cancelled it.

:(:(

Which is super annoying because this makes the third time that I've had to cancel due to lack of interest.

We're going to try again for early May.

So Saturday night was our work ball.  Lots of eating, drinking and dancing.  Always a great night!

The room was blue.  Very very blue.

For entree I had the pork belly which was pretty awesome.  The sweetie had the cured salmon and crab but I didn't try any of that.

For mains the sweetie and I both had the stuffed chicken.  I found mine to be a tad dry and wasn't much of a fan of the polenta cake.  I tried a mouthful of Lachie's lamb and that was pretty nice.

We also both ended up with the lemon meringue tart, which suited Lachie and Sarah as they both wanted the chocolate lava cake.

Spent all of Saturday morning doing the trivia night.  Went and helped Kit for a little while with party prep, then went down about 3pm for Pete's housewarming.  Didn't stay long because we had to get ready for the ball (which I'll save for a separate post).

Stayed up very late (including catching the tail end of the housewarming) so was pretty tired today.  Spent all morning on the trivia night (pretty much finished it) and then just Lego sorting in the afternoon.  Had leftovers for dinner and watched some Enterprise with the sweetie.

Oh, and how crazy was the weather today?  Bit of a dust storm across Canberra and crazy winds.

Normally we can see Mount Ainslie, but it was gone!!

Exhausted

Crazy busy week this week.  Short, but exhausting.  And no chance to relax this weekend, way too much to do.

Had lunch with the Chrises and Glenda today which was nice, although I ate too much and was struggling to stay awake.  Had a late dinner and now going to collapse into bed.

Went to bed at normal time.  Stu stayed up late.  I didn't get to sleep til 1am.

Hurrah.

So zombie today.

Got three rounds of trivia entered into the presentation.  Got through two rounds before Open Office ran out of memory.  Blerf.  But I was saving a copy at the end of entering each round, so that when it corrupts my file I won't lose more than a round.  Learnt that lesson the hard way last time...

Monday.. right?

Got lots of feedback from Doc on the trivia night questions, and finalised them all tonight.  Now the fun part of copying and pasting the questions into the presentation begins...!

Watched a special on the human body tonight, which reminded me somewhat of the Robert Winston version, only much much newer :)

Not so fun is the lock button on my phone, which has gotten sticky again.  It'll be sitting there on the table and suddenly will try and turn itself off.  Or I'll be using it and it will suddenly lock.  Super frustrating.  There were rumours of a small form factor updated SE 2 coming soon, but still waiting...  Alternatively, jeans with bigger pockets would be a suitable alternative, then I'd get an 8...

Long Weekend

| | Comments (0)

So relatively nice long weekend.  Did a lot of Lego sorting (every day), a bit of food shopping (Saturday), finally cracked 8192 on 2048 (Saturday), Ben over for roast pork (Saturday), some cooking (caramel slice and beef stew on Sunday morning), killifish study group meeting at Serkan's and then dropped off some stuff at Stu's and the kids (Sunday), saw the balloons (Monday), a Bunnings run (Monday), a couple of episodes of Homeland, several episodes of Enterprise and about fifteen episodes of The Addams Family.  I was hoping to do a bit of shower grouting, but that wasn't to be.  But I did get some work done on the trivia night (but again, not as much as I'd hoped).

Tired

Long week.  Too much socialising haha :)

Looking forward to some down time and sorting and organising and Getting Things Done.

Another day of getting things done.. well, and doing crap for other people as well hehe.

Went down to Kit's for dinner (pizza was calling) and a couple of drinks and now an early night.

I also finished up my first draft of the trivia night questions this week and sent them round to peoples for comment (no responses yet though :( ).  Tonight I worked on the filler rounds.  I've got two definites and one maybe.

Then the fun part of putting it all into a slideshow begins...

One Week

Chrissie's been having a tough time with breast feeding (just not working .. again.. :( ).  Went over and caught up with them and had dinner which was a nice catchup.

Exactly one week old..

Ok day today, mostly just doing my own thing.

Leftovers for dinner (if I die of food poisoning it'll likely be from the rice).

Watched some Enterprise with the sweetie, worked on the trivia night (pretty much finished), then watched Postcards from the Edge, which in all this time I've never actually seen.  Did mean for a slightly late night though.

Also, fake Lego should be banned, outlawed, purged from the world.  And anyone that buys that crap sucks.  Just sayin'.

Yesterday we headed out to the club *first thing* which was somewhat stressful.  I spent three hours dismantling Lego while the committee meeting was on, then we all spent the afternoon in the pool which was nice enough.  Came home and watched some Enterprise.

This morning I woke up depressed because *yet another* weekend was half gone on account of the club.

Today alternated between housework and trivia night prep and Lego sorting.

Cooked some cheese and spinach stuffed chicken for dinner and watched Enterprise and the start of season six of Homeland.

And while it's a little too early for bed time, I might have a go at it anyway, on account of going to bed at nine thirty last night but then not getting to sleep til 11:30 :(

Where were we?

Last night made pizzas and got a lot less carbs in the process.  Then had a couple of drinks at Kit's cause we haven't seen them in ages.

Super busy day today.  Watched some Enterprise and had leftover chicken for dinner.  Then Lego sorting in front of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which David gave me years ago for a birthday present (in 2003!).
