How was your day dear?: November 2007 Archives

Long Day

| | Comments (3)

Long day for me, long night for Stu. Had a bbq for work in the rain today. I suppose it was slightly better than being fried to a crisp in the sun, especially as I'd forgotten to take sunscreen heh.

Afterwards stopped for afternoon tea at the Hyatt, then wandered over to Scotty and Kerry's for pizza and a movie. We watched Blades of Glory. Just about one of the silliest movies I've ever seen. But some silly fun.

And now I'm home.. and Stu is flying all night...

So the other day the Lil Lioness mentioned that her boy was out of town for this week as well, so I suggested we meet up.

So tonight we meandered into the city for dessert. We were originally going to go to Cream, however that was booked out by lots of girls, and Richard Wilkins. So we went to Cafe Essen instead for cake and drinks. I had a lemon meringue pie and a blueberry smoothie. After which I was completely full. Even though I hadn't actually had any dinner, having had a big lunch. Quite odd. But it was all very pleasant. Talked about the usual bits and pieces bloggers talk about, as well as life in Canberra in general.

And then I got home and found bits of blueberry all through my teeth. Yay. :(

Day 2

Was better than day 1. But not by a whole lot.

Last night Natalie came over for pizza.

We drank.

A lot.

More than I've drunk in a while actually. Between the three of us we got through half a bottle of cointreau, half a bottle of vodka, a bottle of wine and goodness knows how much cognac.

And the pizzas were good too (I made them myself).

Somehow When Harry Met Sally came up in conversation (I think in relation to the whole thing about "men and women can never be friends because the sex part always gets in the way". Well the others had never seen it, so we put it on and it was fun, I think they enjoyed it.

I also found someone else who likes Tetrinet!! We had a few drunken games. Would have been fun to fire up another computer and have a three-way game. Maybe next time.

So yeah this morning we suffered. Not helped by TTotM hitting hard at 6am :(

So we had a quiet day today. Really didn't get anything done. Had some nice salmon for dinner and watched The Phantom Menace. That movie truly had some painful stuff in it :( We really must see if we can find the Phantom Edit...
