Ich 2

The angels and the catfish are all still alive. Always a good thing. Took some salt into work to salt up the baby krib tank a bit (I'd taken some potentially infected plants in there the other day), except the babies kept eating the salt crystals. Decided that was not a good thing and would have to dissolve the salt first before adding it :/

So today got some fish medication, pulled out the half dying plants out of the tank, vacuumed the gravel, did a 20% water change, added some aquarium salt, cranked the temperature a couple of degrees and finally added methylene blue to the tank, which actually makes it turn green. If that doesn't kill the fish, the ich will :/

So one of my angels and the catfish look like they've got ich. Haven't had to deal with that before. It's just a disaster. Everything on the net contradicts itself. Plus it's late and I don't have any emergency supplies and I feel bad about using too much water in the middle of a drought and Alison gave me too much information, some of which contradicts stuff I thought I knew and it's just all too hard :(

*and* I just remembered I took a bunch of plants out of that tank and took em to work to put in the baby krib tank. Now I'll probably end up with a tank full of baby kribs with ich. Just what I needed.

Too many late nights and early mornings :(

Took the tank and some water in to work today. Will take some more water in tomorrow. Will take the fish in on Thursday.

Emptied all the gravel out of the neighbours tank, and tipped all the crap water out. Undergravel filters are pretty disgusting. Debated whether or not to put them back in at all, but decided to leave them in for now. May reevaluate later. It sure sux having to clean them. Have to pull the entire tank apart.

Just remembered I was going to dunk the new filter I got into a live tank to start its bacteria going. But it's late. hrmmm.
