This was one location in the project that is *completely* different now to what it was thirty years ago! Between 2009 and 2013 the dam was enlarged, and the old dam is now submerged underwater a hundred or so metres upstream of the new dam.

Looking upstream towards the dam you can see the old footbridge. It was burnt out in the 2003 Canberra bushfires. It's about at the same location that the current new dam. They've built a new bridge downstream from the new dam as a reminder of the famous old bridge.

And finally a photo I couldn't reproduce at all - the lake formed by the dam. There's no access to the top of the dam anymore. But if there were, this whole view would be underwater anyway!
