How cute is this?  T/J got this for me.  It has the same mechanism as a 3D printed one we have at work.

Sunday.  25th.  Leftover Chong Co for dinner. DS9 3.21 then continued watching the How to Change Your Mind documentary on psylocibin.

Monday.  Slept mostly okish.  Quiet day.  Stoopidly put washing outside because it was sunny. Had to rescue it like half an hour later because it was about to rain. Well the sweetie did, he's been looking after me. Cold and wet and miserable, and no working heater hurray.

The tomato plant this was on died from the cold before its only fruit ever ripened..

In the evening there was like one single bolt of lightning nearby but nothing else. Stu cooked some leftover chicken with miso and broccolini which was very nice.

DS9 3.22 then the doco on MDMA.

Tuesday.  Okish sleep.  Quiet day.  Managed to get the heater going so didn't touch the controls all day.  Stu cooked up some creamy mushrooms with fake fettucini which was very nice.

Mushroom fettucini

DS9 3.23 then the last part of the documentary on mescalin.  Too scared that if we touched the heater controls it wouldn't work again, so left it running all night.  Hate doing that, scared we'll either get carbon monoxide poisoning in our sleep or the place will burn down.

Wednesday.  Okish sleep.  Heater still working.  Quiet day.  Did get out for a short walk with Tony which was nice.

Thursday.  20 years since I met the sweetie!  Quiet day.  Lots of photo filing this week, so felt the need to backup my computer so I wouldn't have to redo all that work if something happened to the drive.  DS9 3.25.

Friday.  Turned off the heater to go out.  Miraculously it didn't lose power and we were able to restart it.  Cooked up some mince with tomato/tomato paste/cheese/veggie rice for dinner.

DS9 3.26 then part 2 of Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War.

Saturday.  Quiet day.  Started a jigsaw. Filed lots of photos. Kievs for dinner. DS9 4.1/2

Sunday.  Woke my computer up from sleep and got an instant BSOD.  #grunt.  It did that the other week too hrmmm.  Finished the jigsaw.  Filed lots of photos.

Thought I'd get this little guy to hang out at work.  $3.30 from Daiso!

Petit Block Fox

Petit Block is another in the line of nanoblocks and miniblocks (I've never actually tried to see if the pieces are interchangeable, but they look like they could be).

Petit Block Fox

His head and tail are articulated on a ball and socket joint so they move.  Except, being Not Lego, it'll disintegrate if you don't hold it together because it's so flimsy.

Petit Block Fox

But he's pretty cute :)

Petit Block Fox

These were the leftover pieces.  Maybe I could use some of them in the nanoblocks church heh.

Nanoblocks Church

I saw this at the Green Shed sorry Vinnies sorry Goodies Junction.  Because of the red dot special it was 50% off so only $2 so I figured I could give it ago.

Nanoblocks Church NBH_087

When I opened it I found someone had made a start on it, but most of the pieces were still in orginal (opened) bags

Nanoblocks Church NBH_087

So I pulled it all apart and separated the pieces

Nanoblocks Church NBH_087

It became evident fairly quickly that there were missing pieces - the little meeples out the front of the church were missing (the bits in the photo below I reused elsewhere where they were missing)

Sunday.  29th.  Backdating.  Leftover lasagna with salad for dinner.  Mash, then I watched Inside Out 2.  I think I actually liked it better than the original.

Monday.  Restless legs so took me ages to get to sleep.  Woke up at 5:30.  Overwhelmed with All The Things that need doing.  I don't have time to go to work.  Then of course work was crazy busy and I couldn't leave early like I wanted to.  Did some weeding after work but no time for music :(  Leftovers for dinner.  Life is all too hard.  But I did do a heap of catchup blogging - seven entries!!

Thursday.  Mostly ok sleep.  Did some planning for some post-migration cleanup work.  Quiet drinks.  Made pizzas.

Friday.  Awake some time before 3 til some time after 5.  Sigh.  Did the cleanup work I'd been planning.  Kievs for dinner.  David Graf was in Mash haha.  Amazing Race and early night.

Saturday.  Somewhat restless sleep but better than Thursday night.  A day of doing All The Things.  I've been scanning the filing cabinet on weekends (when the sun is out to power my old computer).  Decided I didn't need to scan development application notices.  But it was funny to go look at them on Google Maps/Street view now they're done.   So many knock-down-rebuilds!!  Chong Co delivery for dinner.  "Larry" Fishburne in Mash haha.  Then watched Golden Kamuy, which Stu said is like 6/300 of the manga.  hmmm.

Irises

Sunday.  Mostly ok sleep I guess?  Woke up at 5:25.  Oh wait, that's 6:25.  Cool I guess.  Another busy day of All The Things.  We went out and bought a new printer.  I didn't want to get HP because, subscription trash (didn't do any research to see if there were any that didn't have it, but I refuse to support companies doing subscription trash).  And didn't want to get Brother because our last one had the "known bug" with the fuser slipping and blurring prints (not to mention the paper jams) after only 15000 prints.  So we're trying Oki.  LED rather than Laser.  See how it goes.  Then did some food shopping.  It didn't feel like a Sunday so forgot to backup phone/do music/blog.  Whoops.  Watched a bit of a YouTube video on The Easy Life in Kamusari.  Then I watched Salt.  Bit of Hollywood fluff.  And how cute is Liev Schreiber?!?

Lasagne and purple carrots

Monday.  New Years Day.  So New Years Eve we had some beer and watched Rocketman which was quite interesting.  But then had a sad cause we couldn't agree on something else to watch before midnight.  Ended up watching Death in Paradise 7.6.  Watched the Sydney fireworks but made for a late night.  But of course woke up New Years Day 6am.  Because that's what I do.  Bit of a lost day.  Didn't get much done.  After lunch the sweetie suggested going for a drive, and I'm like, the Cotter is spilling.. so off we went.  Turns out there's another lookout you can go up to (have to walk, takes about an hour round trip if you stop and look at flowers and saddle dams and the like).  I haven't been up there since it was still under construction in 2010.  Being New Years Day the place was PACKED.  We were lucky to get a parking spot.

Kievs for dinner.  Was right near the end of the cooking and was about to turn off the oven.. only to find it was off.  Dead.  Tripped the power.  Sigh.  Think we need to give the damned thing a bowl of petunias.

Tuesday.  Back to work.  Sigh.  Planned to do nothing other than be the Naughty Email Intervention Layer, and clean up the test servers to get them as close to prod as possible.

Wednesday.  Rinse and repeat.

Thursday.  Rinse and repeat.  Death in Paradise 7.7.

Last look before I started taking things down
Last look Christmas tree

Friday.  Finished cleaning up the test policies which made me pretty happy.  Once all was said and done it was like 3pm.  I'd had a pretty intense week of getting this stuff done, surely that means I can knock off right?  The Orville 2.8 and 2.9 in the evening.  And I watched an old Harry Potter special on YouTube.

The capsicums I planted out the front are still alive.  The ones I planted out the back got eaten by snails.

LIghts

Saturday.  Woke up at like 4am and don't think I got back to sleep at all.  Zombie tired all day :(  Then had a sad about taking the Christmas tree down and everything being too hard.  So the sweetie put on some John Williams which helped :)  Mostly house stuff (physical stuff) because I was too tired to concentrate on anything.  Leftovers for dinner, Mash, Sex Education 4.2.

Thistles are of the Devil.  I mean seriously, what was God's purpose in inventing these abominations??  Normally I'd rip these things out, but it was out of the way so I left it to flower.  Because they do have pretty flowers.  Will cut off the heads before they go to seed.

Six days later and the glow stick from NYE is still going (really only visible in the dark though)
Glow stick

Sunday.  Tried to get an early night on account of being zombie tired all day.  Except I was too tired to go to sleep.  Sigh.  Stoopid restless legs.  So that was all a bit miserable.  Not great sleep either, but still felt somewhat better today.  Walked up Mt Rogers before it got too hot.

Got some stuff done, but wasted entirely too much time on Rubik's puzzles (found in the box when I was looking for my Spirograph).

All our Game and Watches from the 80s

I have like a thousand Buckyballs (collected before the ban on sales).  I should make something epic out of them..
Buckyballs

I didn't solve this.  In fact I completely bollocksed it up and needed help to unscramble it before could watch a video to solve it.  The big one I bollocksed up too but haven't fixed it yet.
Rubik's Magic

And suddenly it's the end of the weekend.  Sigh.

Monday.  Slept ok but still woke up tired.  Did change paperwork for proxy upgrade in the morning.  Did test in the afternoon.  Test lulled us in a false sense of security that prod will be smooth too.. hrmmm.  We both cooked dinner.  Stu used some mince I cooked and made "chorizo mince", I did a cauliflower/broccoli bake and zucchini and capsicum.

Tuesday.  Ok sleep.  Spent most of the day doing further proxy cleanup and tweaking.  David has now booked his flights and the hotels for our cruise next year.  But on the same day I got an email from the cruise company noting that my credit card has expired.  I literally started feeling queasy and anxious about having to deal with them yet again.  We still need to swap out Stu for David.  I don't think I can deal with the stress of that, might need to delegate that job.

So this is what I mean about the negative discolouration.  The top sheet is from May 1983.  It has a bit of a peach tint to it, so the scans come out a little green.  The bottom sheet is from December 1994.  It's very blue, so the scans come out bright yellow.  Very upsetting.  Means I'm going to need to keep the prints for some of these when Mum carks it, because they are in better condition than the negatives. I wonder if Fuji has fared any better over the years (pretty sure she switched to Fuji at some point).

Also.  Petrol!

Epic petrol

Wednesday.  Proxy stuff.  Again.  Brisket with veggies, with some spinach Stu cooked for dinner.  Finished labelling all 719 Victoria photos ready for the blog.  Started culling other bits and pieces, like motels, flowers, bugs and other stuff.  They will have separate new posts other than the daily posts.

Thursday.  Couldn't get to sleep til way past midnight :(  Another proxy day.

Oh no, not again.  We need to give Coles a bowl of petunias.

Oh no, not again

Caught up on the whisky night from last week (Neil still had some of everything!).  Not doing it on the main night meant I also got to get them all at once so I could compare and contrast them (normally there wouldn't be enough glasses to do this).  Only half shots of all these!!

Whisky tasting

Dinner was no-carb pizza.  An idea I got from Jeff at work.  Basically you just skip the base and have a cheese pizza.  OMFG it was so good!!!

Friday.  Still working on proxies.  Stumpy kept me company for a whole hour in the morning.  My butt was getting sore by the end of it!

Stumpy pretzel

Had lunch at Herbert's with a couple of Chrises, a Wello, a Tony and a Glenda.  I had the pot pie this time.

Herbert's pot pie

Tv dinner for dinner and then watched Sleepless in Seattle.  Which was a given after seeing An Affair to Remember last week.

Saturday.  Woke up at 4am and didn't really get much sleep after that.  Did a Coles run in the morning.

Coles aisle nine and three quarters

Then spent most of the rest of the day trying to get organised.  I wanted to see if the travel insurance I got in November last year would cover covid hospitalisation.  According to the PDS it probably doesn't, because I had no choice but to get it because I had a credit that needed using up by December 1.  Turns out literally five days later they changed it to include covid cover.  So then I had to email them to see if I'll be covered.  Because I certainly don't want to have to get a whole new policy.  If I did I certainly wouldn't be giving THEM any more of my money.  But it also meant I couldn't do much else holiday-wise until it's sorted.

Stumpy

In my scanning during the week there were a couple of frames that scanned with mostly the correct colour balance because they were taken in caves with pure black.  Which meant pure clear on the negative.  So the scanner software kinda got the colour balance right.  So I was able to redo two whole rolls by putting the frames in those three slots.  But it was super tedious.  Salmon and cabbage for dinner, then episode three of Obi-Wan Kenobi.  Then we watched The Constant Gardener.  It was pretty good.  Except for Justin's scenes in his Nairobi house that just had *too* much of a green colour shift.  The colour just looked wrong.  Made it look like he was back in London, when he wasn't.

Sunday.  Breakfast with Tony at Little Oink.  Just me though, the sweetie wasn't feeling it.

Little Oink

Then a walk up Mount Painter (the sweetie would definitely not have liked that haha).

Then it was continued trying to keep up with life.  Put some black plastic sheeting the plumbers left behind over the periwinkle next to the lemon tree.  Hoping it'll mostly kill it.  Continued fighting with the scanner and negatives.  Even using the "correct" colour balance settings with the three frames that got it mostly right, the scans were still coming out bright yellow.  Very upsetting.  Also tidying emails and attachments, paying bills etc.  Then cooking All The Food for the next few days.

Twenty years ago today I took these photos of a couple of my wooden dinosaur skeletons.  Pretty sure this was at the beginning of the collecting, so there'll be more pics of these in coming years ;)  I actually collected quite a lot of them, but they've been packed up since I moved to Canberra and have been in a box ever since :(

Yowies

Twenty years ago today I took these photos of all my Yowies.  That was the peak of the collection.  I don't think I ever got anymore, and they never saw the light of day again.  They're all in a box somewhere now, I wonder if they're worth anything.
