Sunday.  23rd.  Back dated.  Leftover pork and veggies for dinner.  Stu found a recipe on RecipeTinEats for crispy eggplant to try with Tony's other eggplant (since the other one went very slimy).  I tried and it actually worked, although if anything I set the oven to be *too* hot heh.

Also All The Garlic!

DS9 1.3 with the Duras sisters, so afterwards I watched Star Trek: Generations.  Dumb movie.  The whole premise of it was dumb.  He got into the nexus the first time by being in ship that crossed into it, so why not just do that again.

Monday.  Not super great sleep.  All the crap at work.  Looking at proxy procurement crap.  Started feeling a bit crap after work like I was having an immune reaction.  Finished up a little early and had a bit of a lie down.  No sleep of course.  Leftover veggies for dinner then DS9 1.4.

Also.  Ketosis!

Tuesday.  Slept fairly well, but feeling like I had a bit of a sore throat.  So went back to bed.  Rested all day, but no sleep.  Leftover blue cheese veggie bake and salad for dinner.  DS9 1.5 and Stranger Things 1.5.

Wednesday.  Took ages to get to sleep on account of being in bed all day, but did eventually sleep mostly ok.  Still feeling off and bit of a sore throat, so another day in bed.  May have had a meltdown at one point.  Also wondered if my achy neck was simply from lying down for two days.  hrmm.

Leftover blue cheese veggie bake and salad for dinner.  I had in my notes DS9 1.5 and Stranger Things 1.5, but actually think it was 1.6 for both.  And somewhere around here watched DS9 1.7 but don't know when.

Thursday.  Don't think I had a sore throat anymore.  Either I was never actually sick and it was all in my head (entirely possible - during covid I was convinced I had a sore throat literally every time I went out in public), or I beat whatever it was.  Took a bus in for HBZ's farewell which was nice, but it was super hot.  Got home, had a shower, and just collapsed.  Pizzas for dinner, DS9 1.8, feeling unwell in my stomach.  Too much stress probably.

Friday.  Took til like 1am to get to sleep, then awake from like 5.  Sigh.  Busy morning, then stressed trying to get everything ready before I left...

Monday.  31st.  Backdating.  Slept well.  I set off the stoopid hallway smoke detector while I was doing the dusting (I wasn't even anywhere fricken near it!!!) which gave me a heart attack because I was right under it, and then Stu couldn't get it to turn off.  He wanted to take it down, but the thing is a ten year battery life detector which has this incredibly stoopid feature that if you disable the battery you disable it PERMANENTLY.  So I'm not actually sure if the thing is even functional anymore.  Need to light a candle under it or something stoopid.  I swear I'd never buy another one of those things, I'd rather just replace the battery every couple of years.  Probably cheaper to do that anyway.  Super busy day at work, didn't get to do one of the things I wanted to.  Tax stuff in evening (figuring out my hours worked from home).

OMFG it's a disaster!  Something ate my little sunflower!! :(

Tuesday.  Woke up to fog.  It's been so humid the past few days it's been so disgusting.  Another super busy day at work.  *Still* didn't get to do the one thing I wanted to.

Wednesday.  Went to bed nice and early, but went to sleep late - like past 23:00 late.  #grunt.  Another super busy crazy day.

Thursday.  Yet another crazy day.  Sigh.  Pizza for dinner, then watched the second episdoe of the Girl on the Train vs Rear Window.

I took this on Thursday night, which was like the first photo on my phone in three days.  The larger horse on the left, Beau (or Bow, can't remember now) v2 replaced the one I dropped when I was in kindergarten or first class.  The smaller one I got not long after.  So they're like forty years old.

Friday.  Couldn't get to sleep for hours, sigh.  Woke up to 14C in the house which felt a tad cold for some reason.  Took the car to Woden for a service and got a lift back (thanks Tony!!).  Yet another crazy busy day.  As soon as I logged on there was an OMFG IT'S AN EPIC EMERGENCY thing that needed doing which they'd found out about out of hours the night before, and if someone had thought to call myself or Neil it wouldn't have been such an OMFG EPIC EMERGENCY.  Le sigh.  Picked up the car, then continued working trying to get stuff done.  Chicken kiev for dinner, and the girl on the train in the rear window, as well as packing ...   !!

Ornaments

One of the boxes I unpacked in the garage contained what's left of my ornament collection.

I did have quite a few more things, but I gave them away before I moved to Canberra (I took photos of everything before I gave them away).  Actually just looking over the photos now I suppose maybe I could have kept more of them.  I think the little plastic dogs I should have kept.  And the painted egg.  And the large horse.  And the dolphin kinetic balancer ..   annnyhoo..

This is what I did keep:

Kazza's ornaments
The larger swan I'm pretty sure was a gift from Donna Bonnefin early in primary school.  When the smaller one came along it went well with it.

The penguin I got on Philip Island in 1990.

The dandelion in resin I bought up at Randwick a year or two before I left Sydney.  The Faculty Dean had one like it on his desk that I drooled over every time I saw it, so when I saw them for sale I snatched one up at ~$50 I think it was.  Apparently they wreck a lot of dandelions before they get one that works.  I'll post a better pic of it some time.

The squirrel (squirrel!!) I got in Disneyland in 1983.  It was a souvenir that I chose when the parents said we could choose something.

The larger of the two horses was a replacement for one of my earliest ornaments.  I got the original in either kindergarten or first class.  He was called Bow (or Beau?) and I took him to school for show and tell.  Three points if you can get what happened.  We tried to superglue his broken leg back on, but it never really worked.  A year or two later I got a replacement!  And some time after that got the smaller one.

The pet rock has bit of scaly nose that looks a lot like a lizard.  I wrote a creative writing piece in English one year about her.  I remember the first line was "Liz was a rock".

The yellow bouncy thing I also got in primary school.  For some reason it reminds me of Bryony Walker.

The crystal elephant was a gift from Guy when we were dating.
