Saw this super cool light wall in the Canberra Centre the other week. It's interactive - you can press the lights and they change colours and turn on/off. I totally want one.
Also saw this and thought it was pretty cool. Is there anything more you need in life?
I don't think I've ever managed to get a photo of this. There's either no rocks there, or I'm driving and it's too hard. This time there were rocks on both signs, although a car was stopped right in front of the second one #grunt
My dad always used to refer to not touching things as not "fingerpoken and mittengrabben". And dumb people were dummkopfs. And rubberneckers as, well, rubberneckers. This version doesn't talk about "cottenpicken fingers", but he used to refer to those as well. So did mum.
I don't know that I've ever actually seen this poster though. But it's been around for a very long time.
So I decided today to export all the blood pressure readings (and heart rate and weight) from the app I've been using for the past four years (iBP Tracker by Finger Taps). Turns out the export to email function doesn't actually work. Neither does the online backup option.
So I was forced to go through each day's entry and manually record it elsewhere.
I got through the past month, which is what I want to take to the doctor.
What a piece of crap. Guess what application I *won't* be using anymore.
Another thing I realised tonight is how much crap I have on my computer. At least twenty year's worth.
I did find this list of quotes (file was last saved 16.10.97) which I remember well..

An ongoing project of mine is scanning photos. At the moment I'm scanning Mum's photos of our trip to Western Australia in 1984. This morning I scanned this photo of the Leaning Tower of Albany - a replica of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in a guy's back yard.
At the time, the tower was two years old - it apparently having been built in 1982.
So the dude who built it, Aldo Scamozzi, is apparently still alive, and still living in the same house. The National Library even interviewed him once.
The other week when I came home from Sydney, I joined the Hume Highway off Picton Road and merged in behind a truck. So I sat and followed it. I wasn't in any particular hurry so just sat behind it the whole way. Well, until it pulled off to the heavy vehicle checking station at Marulan that is, then I was on my own and did a lot closer to the speed limit.
Tonight I downloaded the GPS track from that trip, and at first I was puzzled at the change of speed I did along the Hume. Until I remembered the truck.
Hi there, I'm looking for my husband. He laughs like a hyena. Yes that's him.
I found the above ad tonight on one of dad's documentary tapes where he hadn't edited out the ads. This was early-mid 2005 - ten years ago! Then I realised ten years ago wasn't actually that long ago .. hrmm.
Spent a good funny while going through old Yellow Pages ads trying to find it :)

Last Saturday night we had a couple of Davids and a Chris and a Neil over for a video night.
It was a good fun night and there was lots of nibbles and wine and pizza and beer.
We watched Ghost World which was ok, and Dogma which was completely ridiculous.

In about year eight (give or take a year) we were learning to solve mathemetical formula such as this one:
Yes really :)
ok so were just learning this stuff in general when a magazine advert came out with the above formula. Well not quite. It actually had a mistake in it and didn't work. So we figured out what was wrong with it and fixed it, and that's what's above.
I can't imagine for a second that anyone will bother to try and solve it, but just in case anyone does, I'll hold off posting the photo from the magazine.

Had a pretty quiet morning. Did a bit of computer stuff (not as much as I needed to), some housework (again not as much as I needed to) and some jigsaw.
Mid afternoon we dropped off our worm farm to my boss' boss' boss' boss' boss before heading out to the club. Which turned out to be a thoroughly pleasant. A small bunch of the regulars were there, including Chris and Geoff so that was lovely.
Tonight I might have watched Die Hard 4, but it was forty minutes late starting (presumably pushed back by the Grand Prix) so I didn't bother.
Got a few crappy photos of the ISS flying over. Had trouble getting it focussed in the dark... will try harder next time!
As seen at the mall. Expensive but looked pretty awesome.
Edit: the little stand selling them was gone the next day
As seen on Boing Boing the other day
