Sunday.  4th.  Cooked a nice potato bake, kalettes, veggies and another perfectly cooked head of garlic, to go with some leftover pork.

Monday.  Awake around 4 for like an hour or so.  But over eight hours sleep I guess so not *quite* as tired as yestrday.  Logged onto work and saw I might have broken stuff on Friday.  But couldn't figure out what.  Con eventually figured out what it was a bit before lunch.  Guess their post change testing was flawed.  Annoyed at myself for not figuring it out sooner though.  Dinner was a bunch of stuff that need using up in the fridge - mushrooms, bacon, feta, shallots, cream and basil.  Yummy but very salty. 

Finished culling my Tassie photos which is a bit of an achievement.  Watched the fourth part of the Olympics opening ceremony.  In some ways more people saw the ceremony .. but actually most people saw a lot less.  You had to be at the right spot on the Seine to see any of the performances, which means probably most people only saw the athletes on the boats.  And only a very small number of people actually saw the official bit.  Also bwhahahaha they put the flag on upside down!  #fail

Tuesday.  Super busy day.  Had a marathon call with a contractor on how to do some stuff.  Went into town after work and met up with Luc for a couple of drinks at Molly's.

I had wagyu, but I was expecting some sort of vegetation, and Luc had three little entrees.

Wednesday.  Slept mostly ok.  Another busy day.  Neil and I tried out Uyghur Cuisine.  We had the kung pow chicken and sizzling beef.  We could have easily had just one of those dishes with rice and be done.

Had drinks with Neil, Jim and Taranii after work.  Dinner, backup computer, suddenly it's bed time.

Thursday.  Another busy day.  Good drinks.  Quick dinner at Badger (empandas).

Then to see Beethoven's 9th.  It was excellent.  Enjoyed it a lot more than last time.  And because I know a chunk of the words to it now I was singing along quietly.  Not quietly enough though it seems, apparently it was "a bit offputting".  Sigh.  That's it.  I'm done.  Thank you.  The end.

Friday.  Awake from 3am. 

Busy day again.  Finished writing up my doco on the migrations work. And in the afternoon we actually migrated two machines ourselves.  Chris promised kievs this week.  And he would have had them.  Except the supplier picked up the wrong thing.  Sigh.  His theory is they never had them, but gave him something else anyway.  So we had pizza for dinner.  Mash, rss feeds, early night.

Saturday.  Slept mostly ok.  Super busy day, but behind schedule all day trying to do All The Things.  Went into battle with Super this time.  I need to find out how much work put in so I can figure out the whole nonsense of claiming a deduction for the extra I put in.  Can't find anything in the portal.  Nothing was emailed.  Nothing was posted.  So went to fill in a contact form and a knowledge document comes up that says "Most statements will be available online from mid-August to mid-September."  Seriously WTF??  Cooked the fourth turkey roast we didn't use for the club Christmas in July with some veggies.  Probably overdid it a bit.  Might have eaten another head of garlic.

Mash (GW Bailey from Police Academy!) then watched the first part of Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War.

Sunday.  Took ages to get to sleep then had thermoregulation issues.  Busy day again.  Realised it'll be six months next week that we left on our Tassie trip.  Reckon I can label 1500 photos by then? hmmm.  Managed ~350 today.

Monday.  7th.  Backdating this cause I'm a slacker.  Got back into a migration project for our mail archive servers.  Weeding after work and music and a day of geotagging.  Then watched crap on the internet.

Tuesday.  Busy busy busy all day.  Got our test archive server accepting mail and started on the prod one.  Weeding, beer, music, dinner - basa bake! and geotagged a day of holiday photos.  And was too lazy to get out my tripod for the blood moon, so handheld it was.

Wednesday.  Another super busy day.  Got the prod archive server working.  Turned out to be a lot easier than I thought it would be because there were no issues with the custom dlls/scripts that prod has.  Tried out 1919 Langzhou Beef Noodle (with pork!) which was quite nice.  They make their noodles fresh for each order!  Home late so no time for music or weeding.  Leftovers for dinner and geotagged a day.

Thursday.  Busy busy.  Finished season 29 of The Simpsons.

Friday.  Not quite so busy as the rest of the week.  Went and saw Jess in the AWS for a Remembrance Day event.

Saturday.  All The Things.  So fricken busy trying to keep up with life.  

Yeah this is totally going to be snail/slug food..  (these strawberries are literally weeds in our pavers.. really need to rip them out haha)

In the evening went over to Rob and Fiona's new place for a lovely housewarming evening.  Even though it rained.  And got really cold.  hehe.  Quite a late night (the sweetie for once was the one wanting to stay late while I wanted to go to bed ;) )

Sunday.  Slept ok but still woke up at my normal time (the storm rolling through didn't help).  Then another day of All The Things.  The sweetie wanted to get out of the house so we took a drive out the back of Dunlop/Holt to see the West Belconnen Pond.

At some point in the past week or two I watched Ariel's Beginning which was kinda fun.  It would have been nice to have her introduced to Scuttle as well (maybe the actor had died though?).  

Sunday.  15th.  Realised I didn't actually set foot out of the house all day.  Dinner was roast chicken and veggies.

Monday.  Woke up at like 1:40ish for like three hours.  Sigh.  Ok morning, but a crazy intense afternoon trying to do all the things and fix all the problems and answer all the questions.  Still going at 17:40 and Stu cooked dinner of Asian greens and rice.  Did some photo culling, then back online to do more work, including fighting firewalls doing strange things.

Also, wtf, I was actually actively using my computer in the evening and it suddenly rebooted for patching.  So much for "active hours".  Microsoft is crap.

Tuesday.  No notes for the day.  Cooked mushroom pesto pasta for dinner.

Wednesday.  No notes again.  Whoops.  

Thursday.  After drinks and after dinner at Turquoise Turkish (some quite nice shish kebabs) we went to see Jess in the Australian Wind Symphony.  It was pretty fun even though I didn't know any of the music.  Turns out a few drinks helps with that, who knew.

Friday.  Slept like crap.  Had lunch with the Chrises at Herbert's which was nice.

After work we went over the hills for a lovely chicken dinner and still managed an early night.

Saturday.  Slept a lot better.  House stuff, Lego stuff, scanning.  In the afternoon went and got our democracy sausage.  Then some music.  Dinner was pulled pork from a slow cooker recipe book I picked up at the Green Shed a while back.  Stu really liked it, although I found it a little watery.  Then watched the election coverage.

Sunday.  Slept okish but not great.  Went out in the morning to see some autumn leaves and it turned into a trip up Mount Ainslie, brunch at Edgar's, and a wander around the lake, and didn't get home til lunch time.  Ooops.  So then I just pretty much collapsed.  Sigh.  Didn't get any weeding or green bin filling or music done, although I did do more negative scanning (the ones from after the USA holiday don't seem to have the same magenta-shift so that's good) and some fish stuff.  Roasted a heap of veggies to have with leftover chicken from last weekend.  Downloaded photos but no energy for blogging.

On the middle Saturday night of the Olympics, twenty years ago tonight, there was a free concert in The Domain.  For some reason I ended up going with Neety, the brother type person's girlfriend at the time.  I was a little too terrified as a youngster to take my *super expensive* digital camera with me, so the only photos from the night were Neety's.  

The concert was pretty cool.  There were a bunch of acts that I'd either never heard of or didn't know any of their work, then Paul Kelly and Neil Finn (Crowded House).

Aside from creepy guy rubbing his genitals into us in the mosh pit, but after I GLARED at him he went to find some other people to harrass.

Paul Kelly was a surprise.  The only thing I knew by him was Dumb Things from the Young Einstein soundtrack, but even though I didn't know his work I really enjoyed him live. 

And Neil Finn did a whole bunch of Crowded House songs, which was super awesome, even though he stopped singing I Fall at Your Feet just in time for everyone to sing "who knows where that might lead" and barely anyone sang it (I did!!!).  

Neety wanted to hang around after to see if she could wangle a meeting with Neil Finn, or even get a copy of the playlist, and span some yarn about coming all the way from the Blue Mountains or some such silliness, but didn't get anything.

So a few months ago, DC asked "are you doing anything on the 20th April" and I'm like .. ummmmmmm

So he's like "I want to go to something but I probably wouldn't go unless I had someone to go with" and I'm like .. ummmmm .. and he goes "it's a surprise" .. hrmmm

Anyways.  So turns out, it was The Proclaimers.  The timing was pretty crappy.  I'm so fricken busy at the moment. 

The concert was ok.  I only know two of their songs.  And it wasn't much of a "show" - just the guys standing around singing.  And no real audience interaction which would have made the difference.  But it was fun for the two songs I did know..  And the drummer and the keyboardist were fricken awesome - so much energy and they were *going off* the entire show!  A pretty good night.
