Arboretum

This was wayyyy back in July.  Tony dragged me out of the house kicking and screaming and took me to the Arboretum.  I used it as a good opportunity to test out my new lens.

I need to go back at a different time of day to photograph this from the other side.  I was going through Mum's photos the other night and she had a photo taken from the other side.  It actually spells out real words!  Who knew!

Sunday.  28th.  Reheated some mince that I cooked on Friday with some cream cheese and had that with salad for dinner. DS9 7.16. Early night.

Mince and salad

Monday.  Slept mostly ok.

Prepped some complicated comms rules for another section. Went to put the lamb shoulder into the slow cooker at lunch but it didn't fit. Sigh. This is what happens when you let someone else do the shopping for you. So put it in the oven in a baking tray with some stock and covered it in foil and roasted at 110C all afternoon. I couldn't tell how much power we were using because SolarEdge is trash and lost contact with the battery before lunch (and still hadn't gotten it back by the evening). A bit after 5 took it out to look at it. The garlic wasn't cooked and the lamb wasn't falling apart, so put the temp up a bit and freed the garlic and cooked at a higher temperature for like twenty minutes, then put in some brussels sprouts. So turns out the lamb was super tender, really well cooked, although it was a battle to get at the meat past all the fat.

Slow lamb roast

Put on DS9 7.17, but when I went to turn the lounge lights off it hadn't made contact yet and popped up the menu to do stuff, but I hit the wrong button - instead of cancel to try again, I hit dismiss group, and then it was GONE. It's not the first time I've done this, but last time I was able to recreate the group (somehow, NFI how). This time no such luck. The Mirabella Genio app is one of the WORST apps out there. I was trying everything to get the group back but the app is utter TRASH and I was getting more and more stressed and eventually somehow deleted the actual light devices and two of them started flashing. I literally ended up having a meltdown because life is too damned HARD at the moment. Couldn't finish the episode and our lights are still stuffed up.

Tuesday.  Took ages to get to sleep, then restless sleep thereafter. Hurray.

KFC on the way home. Oops. Neighbours have a visitor from Victoria who's parked partly in our driveway even with the extra space. #grunt. Finished DS9 7.17. Still haven't fixed the lights (actually managed to get one of them to pair last night, but not the other).

Wednesday.  Galations 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance (patience!), kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. I was going to print these out in emoji and stick them to my monitor to remind myself, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Purple poppies

Con asked me to work on the new proxy policy. But first I had to get my persistent machine setup so I could actually *work* on it (rather than trying to switch between the two). So that took most of the morning. Then documenting and asking questions about what's been done so far and trying to wrap my head around this thing again. Off in the afternoon to get nuked (1/15). Two and a half hours out of the house later. Sigh.

Sunset roses

Then needed to cook dinner, DS9 7.18, go comet hunting, then it was practically bed time. Sigh.  I did download comet photos and post them though.

Thursday.  Busy day. Conflicting priorities. Hurrah. Off to get nuked (2/15). I got there early and they were running early and it went quickly so I was out of there by the time I was meant to start. Winning!

Galah

Dominos for dinner. Whoops. DS9 7.19. Finished htmlifying Europe food photos.

Friday.

Strawberries coming soon

Busy day. Mostly proxy stuff. Nuking 3/15. Kievs for dinner.

Chicken Kiev and fries

DS9 7.20 then the first episode of Trainwreck: Storm Area 51, which was pretty hilarious.

Saturday.  Busy day. And yet with all the running around and scanning taking longer than it should (hurray perfectionism) I didn't get nearly enough done.

Fresias

Cooked a lasagna and blue cheese potato bake and roast tomatoes for dinner.

Lasagna, potato bake, tomatoes

DS9 7.21 then the other episode of Storm Area 51.

Sunday.  Bit of a late night (fighting with my backup drive). Woke up 6:00. Except actually 7:00. Another busy day of trying to do All The Things and only doing about A Quarter Of The Things. Blerf.

We still haven't fixed the last Mirabella light.  I've tried a few times to get them into pairing mode but nothing happens.  When we get around to it we might try taking out all the "good" lights and leaving just the unpaired one so we can fiddle.

Must be Sunday.  Windoze has forgotten all my folder settings again.

Sunday.  21st.  Stu cooked a cabbage bake and I threw some zucchini in and we had that with some leftover roast beef. Definitely not a great roast - tough (even though it was rare to medium rare) and a line of gristle through it. DS9 7.10 which was pretty good. Think I'm getting a cold sore. Not surprising, and actually surprised I haven't gotten one sooner with my immune system being shot and all.

Cabbage bake and zucchinis

Monday.  Awake half the night stressing about some thing I had to delete at work and how I was going to do it. When I fully woke up I realised that thing didn't even exist and I'd probably just dreamt it. Sigh. Busy day being NEIL and doing All The Things for All The People. Leftovers for dinner then DS9 7.11 then Europe photo labelling (food photos!)

It hailed in the afternoon (very small hail)

Hail

It knocked lots of petals off the cherry tree..

Hail petal carnage

Tuesday.  Felt like I was in the one position all night and that every time I woke up to consider rolling over I just stayed there. hrmm. Busy day being NEIL and doing All The Things for All The People. Someone at 16:40 asked me if I liked Kingsleys. Now I want Kingsleys!!! hrmmmmmmm. Leftovers for dinner, DS9 7.12 which was pretty silly, Europe food photo labelling.

Lunch was pepperoni and olive pizza scrolls..

Wednesday.  Another disjointed but busy day. "Your failure to plan does not constitute my emergency". Except when it does and you have to stay back doing stuff for peeps.  DS9 7.13. Finished Europe food photo labelling (finally!!)

Lunch was little cheese bread toasties, cream cheese, and either tomato, olive, cheese, pepperoni or roast garlic

Toasties antipasto

Dinner was Luv-a-duck cheats Peking duck.  I love this so much!

Luv-a-duck

Thursday.  Busy day doing All The Things for All The People. Pizzas for dinner, then DS9 7.14 (it would have been nice to go to Matt and Michelle's bucks/hens, but, people. Sigh). Thought I'd put on the Lego Batman Movie cause it's disappearing off Netflix soon and I couldn't remember if I'd ever seen it. Turns out I had, back in 2017, and apparently I own a copy. Not that I could find it when I looked..  So much for getting anything else done though, that movie requires 100% attention or you'll miss stuff!!

Purple poppy

Friday.  Took an RDO!!  House stuff in the morning then labelling Europe photos. In the afternoon we went out to the club and lit the fire and had a few drinks and some tv dinners and it was all very pleasant. At 19:30 we were like, now what, and invited Ian down for some whisky which was lovely too.

I got this bottle of shiraz from Ben and Sarah for my 50th and we shared it in front of the fire.  It was really nice!

Saturday.  Actually slept relatively well, I thought, although I wasn't really transfunctionating in the morning (not sure I was making much sense talking the mother type person).

I was going to make scrambled eggs.. but couldn't bring myself to break them when they all plopped into the pan intact..

Fried eggs

Finally got around to doing a second coat of primer on some of the cabinetry. It's been sitting in a half done state for years.  This is an in-progress shot.

Cabinetry priming

Came home in the afternoon. Stu was in agony from his back from after lunch until we got some more powerful painkillers into him when we got home. Most unpleasant for all involved. Mainly him. Finished labelling Europe hotel photos. Pizza for dinner (comfort food for the sweetie!), DS9 7.15, then bed.

Sunday.  Slept relatively well. A day of All The Things. Was a bit confused when I plugged my phone in to back it up that iTunes wanted to upgrade to iOS 26. WTF? I'm only on 18. Turns out they're aligning with the year. Which is dumb anyway because it's 2025 not 2026. Got to half way through htmlifying Europe hotel photos.

Sunday.  14th.  Stu cooked a very yummy cream cheese, chicken and leek casserole for dinner.  He may have also gotten me a kilo of garlic :)  Not that I ate much of it.  Sigh.

DS9 7.4 (bit silly).

Monday.  Still feeling blerf. I can't see either. Maybe cause of spending too much time on my phone in bed. Plus an irritated eyelid making seeing even harder. Sigh. Felt like trash all day, even worse than yesterday, go figure. Leftovers for dinner. DS9 7.5.

Tuesday.  Felt a whole lot better, although mouth pretty icky. Mostly decom work at work. Leftovers for dinner. DS9 7.6. Something got confused in YouTube and I've been watching Anti-Chef for days with no ads. But my browser must have kicked itself or something because ads are back with a vengeance. It's like it's been making up for lost time and getting multiple sets of ads in like a 10 minute video. Sigh.

Wednesday.  1 Corinthians 15:32 If the dead are not raised, "Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die." .. yeah little point to life without an afterlife I guess.

Awake for ages in the middle of the night - probably because my nose was a bit blocked up so couldn't breathe easily. Continued with decom work mostly at work.

Sunset roses

We cooked roast beef and a big cauliflower bake for dinner.

Roast beef and veggies

Finished htmlifying my Europe 2016 photos! Now for food, hotels and panoramas.

Thursday.  Slept somewhat better. Decom work and DNS audit.

Mum photo picking and doing bits for tax. I went to download my super statements for the year. OF COURSE it's offline for maintenance right when I want to do it.

Friday.  Bits and pieces and decom work.  TV dinner for dinner (the sweetie went out to the club).  No Freakier Friday though, it's listed in Disney+ but when you go to watch it it's just a trailer.  Disney+ dumbness.  So watched Terms of Endearment, which I've never actually seen.  As a slice of life some of it felt.. kinda.. "real".. except none of the characters are actually likeable, like, at all (except maybe John Lithgow's character).  I was reminded of the Billy Joel song which has a line "they started to fight when the money got tight and they just didn't count on the tears".

First climbing rose

Saturday.  Slept mostly okish. Except for when the storm rolled through and I disconnected some things. Busy day of All The Things. Kievs for dinner. DS9 7.9.

Must be Friday .. wait.. what?
Kievs and fries

Sunday.  Slept ok. Another busy day of All The Things. Including doing Dotz while the sweetie read a book on the lounge and the radio was on (Last Night at the Proms).   My ideal retirement life. If I live that long. But hearing Bohemian Rhapsody on Classic FM was pretty funny (need to watch the video at some point).  Of course Windoze and Chrome reset all my folder settings again.  Just when I was getting used to it remembering them.

Mac and cheese experiment redux

Had a beer.  First in a couple of weeks.  Sigh.

Oh... found this on the Canon that I'd taken back in July but hadn't downloaded.. Love it..

101 Places

I saw this in the Green Shed, sorry Vinnies, sorry Goodies Junction a while back and snapped a photo of it - 101 Places to See Before You Die.  From the font on it I thought it might be pretty old - like maybe 80s or 90s, but the Millau Viaduct is on there and it didn't open til 2004.

101 Places

I went through the list recently (copied off here) and noted which ones I've actually been to/seen.  I also noted, for the ones I haven't, whether I want to see them, I'd be open to seeing them, or whether I don't really have an interest (or would be impossible with the current state of the world).

Here's my list!

Location Status Notes

Tulum Beach, Cancun Shrug No burning desire to go here
Sydney Opera House Yes I grew up in Sydney so I've seen this many times. I have some photos of the interior here

Great Sphinx of Giza, Egypt Yes Went here with the parents in May 2012
Horseshoe Bay, Bermuda Shrug Meh. Does Half Moon Cay Bahamas count?
Big Ben, London Yes I've been to London twice - with the sweetie in September 2010, and by myself in May 2012

Persepolis, Iran Shrug Yeah won't be getting to Iran any time soon

Not a bad effort :)

Sunday.  7th.  Leftover lamb refried with some brisket jelly, and some Brussels sprouts with bacon and some garlic cauliflower for dinner then DS9 6.23 (dumb Ferengi episode).

Lamb and veg

Monday.  1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. .. don't always feel that.

Took ages to get to sleep, then woke up early. Bits and pieces day. NEIL again end of last week and beginning of this week. Also looking into our rule reordering incident and gathering more data. Leftover lamb, Brussels sprouts and cauliflower for dinner. DS9 6.24 (much nicer episode). Europe photo labelling.

Tuesday.  1 Corinthians 11:6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head. .. makes you wonder how much of the Bible's instructions are cultural.  Apparently I'm a disgrace at the moment.

Took a while to get to sleep, then awake from 4 for ages. Logged on to be NEIL briefly. Then off to get poisoned. Last round! Hurray!

Poison round 4

You're meant to ring the bell on the way out, but I feel like it's a bit premature, you should really do it after a week or two once you've had a chance to recover somewhat.

Ding

Quiet afternoon. Started a new blog. Went for a little walk (to encourage the guts to keep moving).

Nearby phone tower with a whole new head (and extra reinforcing to support all the extra weight)

New mobile phone tower head

Stu had a very emotional day, with a farewell afternoon tea then a long HR meeting. He may have required ice cream. Cooked dinner. It looked nice. It apparently tasted nice. I didn't eat much, but it still felt like I ate too much. Had some of said ice cream. DS9 6.25. Then finished labelling my Europe 2016 photos!

Beef and veggies

Wednesday.  Somewhat restless sleep and awake from 5:30. Put on 2.4kg overnight. All fluid.  Slow quiet day. Stomach more off today than usual on first day post poisoning. The sweetie had his last day of work today. He was pretty emotional again. So we had pizza and ice cream. As you do. Not that I had much. DS9 6.26, end of season six. And All. The. Rain. today!!!

Thursday.  September 11.  Remember always.  Slept reasonably well. Lost 2kg overnight. Even felt a little hungry. Not so great during the morning though. Low level nausea all day, but didn't want to take the anti-nausea pills cause I don't want all my guts to stop moving.. hmmm.. Did some doco at work and helped look at a mail problem with Neil. Leftovers for dinner, DS9 7.1. 19:36 is bed time right?

Friday.  1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  I remember Joe Wiltshire once theorising that the tone of this passage is not the lovey-dovey tone you get at weddings but more like a dressing down.

Woke up around 4 needing to pee but also hungry, go figure. Then at 6:30 was hungry again, actually wanting breakfast. Go figure. Off to TCH for nuking prep. Home at lunch time. Feeling like crap although did stay online at work for the afternoon and got a few bits and pieces done. Zombie evening. Kievs for dinner. Oddly even though I don't feel like eating I feel a bit better when I do. Been having mostly "soft" food though.  DS9 7.2 then lots of watching of Anti-Chef.

Kievs and fries

Saturday.  Felt like utter trash all day, especially in the morning. Pretty much just watched Anti-Chef all day.

Made this lazy-ass mac and cheese for lunch - half a cup of water, boil half a cup of small macaroni for five minutes, then add a dollop of cream and a handful of shredded cheese at the end and melt.  I got Stu to taste it (since I can't judge anything at the moment) and he said it was decent enough.

DS9 7.3 then the last episode of Tokyo Trial.

Sunday.  Quiet day. Felt a little better. Did some photo stuff and some Dotz.

Sunday.  31st.  Baked a cake! Two cakes actually. A coconut cake done properly (in the oven!) and a plain vanilla butter cake from the Australian Women's Weekly Birthday Cake Book. Stu didn't want a numbered cake, but I decided I needed to practise cooking cakes (I never do it) so that one day I can make numbered cakes. And everything else. Used the top element only, which apparently doesn't work very well for baking cakes. The coconut cake was hot and crispy on top, but still soggy on the bottom (done in a silicone mould). The butter cake fared better because it was in a metal tin so the heat transferred better. It was a good experiment for testing out the oven, but next time I think I'll go back to my regular mode of rear element with fan (or at least top element with fan). I also may have made a batch of vanilla cream icing. With some very very very very old icing mixture. It had turned into little balls of hard icing sugar which needed persuading to go through the sifter. Dinner was pizzas, because, the sweetie. And birthday calories don't count right? DS9 6.17.

Monday.  1 Corinthians 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

All. The. Crap. kind of a day. Leftovers for dinner I think. DS9 6.18.

Tuesday.  Rinse and repeat of Monday. Had a bit of a tootle on the saxophone. Cooked up a batch of brussels sprouts and bacon and a cauliflower and pasta bake for dinner. DS9 6.19.

Backlit plum blossoms

Pasta and cauliflower bake

Wednesday.  Rinse and repeat of Monday and Tuesday. Including saxophone. And leftovers of above. DS9 6.20 which was a lot of fun.

Thursday.  Did some work on prod DC migration stuff. No time for tootling though because I wanted to label some photos. Pizzas and garlic bread for dinner. DS9 6.21 and more labelling.

Cherry tree popped

Garlic bread

Pizzas

Friday.  Bits and pieces day. Tried to replicate a problem with our virtual environment but couldn't do it. I did manage to copy paste 12 groups with the APIs in a few minutes that would have taken hours to do manually. Did my Saturday morning routine after work so my Saturday would be more freed up. Kievs for dinner, DS9 6.22, Tokyo Trial #3.

Kiev Fridays

Saturday.  Somewhat restless sleep. Even though I did a lot of my Saturday routine last night, I still ended up doing a whole bunch of housework today. Other bits and pieces too. Luv-a-duck, zucchini and leftover pasta bake for dinner. Then watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, which I'd never seen before.

Sunday.  Slept okish I think. Another day of just trying to Get Things Done.

Cherry blossoms

Sunday.  24th.  Cooked up some fish that Stu bought with a creamy lemon sauce, with some leftover veggies and some frozen veggies.

Fish and veggies

I've also been eating some lime jelly that I made up with some half price jelly from Chris's.

Lime jelly

DS9 6.10.  We might have had a craving for coconut cake.  It would have taken nearly an hour to do it in the oven, so we tried David's method of doing it in the microwave.  It was ok, but hard in places and soggy in others.  Do not recommend.

Microwave coconut cake

Very tired.

Monday.  Slept okish maybe. Still feeling blah. I'm kinda over this crap. Another couple of days of blah for this cycle then only one to go at least.

First plum flower

Daffodils

Put on some brisket at lunch and roasted a bunch of veggies (cauliflower bake and brussels sprouts) and some garlic bread because I can actually still taste garlic.

Slow cooker brisket

Veggies

DS9 6.11 then continued watching Anti-Chef from the beginning (up to video 10).

Also. A red-back spider took up residence in our letter box WTF?? All the nope. Normally I will evict spiders but this one didn't want to be caught and there's no way I'm going to keep sticking my hand in a letterbox with a venomous spider there. So she got spray-and-wiped.  Sorry.

Tuesday.  Felt somewhat better today. Back to DC migration stuff and helping Neil cut over to new mail servers. Cooked up the rest of the fish with some leftover veggies for dinner then DS9 6.12. More Ferengi dumbness.

Wednesday.  Felt normal enough to have food for breakfast today (in the first week I don't feel like much, usually will just have some milk). Spent way too long looking at a login problem that we should have been able to figure out and fix earlier hrmmm.

Stumpy gave me "the look" at one point today - the look that says, aight I'm done with my winter fast, give me food.

Stumpy and a blueberry

Europe photo labelling and Jamie Anti-Chef watching. Leftover brisket and veggies for dinner then DS9 6.13 which was kinda fun seeing what everyone looks like normally.

Daffodils

Thursday.  Woke up at like 2:30 for ages. Continuing to feel a bit better. Bit of DC work and dealing with crap.

Snow drop

Managed to label a day of photos. Pizzas for dinner (must be Thursday!)

Pizzas

Then DS9 6.14 which reminded me of the old Lost in Space episode where they go inside the giant robot (Trip Through the Robot - I only ever saw a couple of episodes of this show like ever, but happened to see that one twice).

Friday.  Romans 12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.  I remember having to learn that once when I was younger.

Slept a little better. Got a bunch of my DC work done but also a bunch of XL's work and dealing with crap. Just missed getting hailed on getting supplies from Chris's.

Rainbow

Hail

Had a fake beer. Just doesn't cut it. Kievs for dinner then DS9 6.15.

Kievs and fries

Went over to see Annie and the family after dinner so that was a nice catchup.  Mila was in town too which was nice.

Saturday.  Slept okish. Bit of Lego. Also got my brand-new-second-hand saxomaphone back all clean and shiny. So it seems low D/C notes are super tricky on a saxophone. But higher notes are a lot easier.

Saxophone all clean

Leftover brisket for dinner then DS9 6.16 and Tokyo Trial episode 2.

Sunday.  Woke up at one point needing to pee, then didn't get back to sleep for ages. Mostly a Lego and photo and baking day.

Sleepy lizard

Sunday.  17th.  Cooked up some creamy lemon and dill chicken with some curry powder cauliflower, brussels sprouts and bacon, and garlic for dinner. Yum yum.

Lemon chicken and veggies

DS9 6.3 then an early night.

Monday.  Slept okish. Spent much of the day working on a big rework of some rules so we can move some DCs from one environment to another. Cooked up some leftover beef with some cabbage, a shallot, garlic powder and all the beef juices. Nothing wrong with it, just not super spectacular, and the sweetie didn't go back for seconds heh.

Beef and cabbage

DS9 6.4 then finished labelling Reformation Tour photos (up to day 17). Oh I noticed after patching this week everything on my task bar is just a bit smaller. No complaints from me, hopefully it means I can fit more on it before open windows scroll out of sight.

Tuesday.  Romans 8:8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you[a] free from the law of sin and death.

Early cheers

Poisoning round three.  Except this time they couldn't find a vein.  Tried four times on my right arm before giving up and going into my hand on my left.  Not ideal but at least they got there in the end.

Poison round 3

So that all took a lot longer to get through.  Ended up going straight to my doctor's appointment afterwards instead of going home first.  Had a little lie down with the sweetie when we got home, then it was time to cook dinner (cauliflower and broccoli bake, zucchini and capsicum with a bit of leftover lamb).

Veggies

DS9 6.5 then bed.

Wednesday.  Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.

Slept okish. Put on 1.7kg (mostly fluid I guess) overnight. Hurray. Nice quiet day, even made some Lego. Leftovers for dinner. DS9 6.6 which was pretty good.

Thursday.  Romans 9:15 For he says to Moses,
"I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion."[f]

Okish sleep but not great. Back to work. Wanted to work on one thing. But All The People wanting All The Crap meant not getting anything done on it. After 16:30 to 18:00 had a good interrupted time on it though. Pizzas for dinner - one tomato, olive, spring onion and cheddar, and one pepperoni and blue cheese. Stu assures me they were good. I miss salt.

Pizzas

DS9 6.7. 20:00 is bed time right?

Recycling inspection

Friday.  Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."[f]

Okish sleep, awake for chunks. Continued on the DC migration work.

Wattle

Violets

Kievs and blue cheese cabbage bake for dinner (the sweetie ate most of it so must have been good!).

Kievs and blue cheese cabbage bake

DS9 6.8. Earlyish night.

Saturday.  Okish sleep maybe. Feeling blah most of the day. Made a couple of sets of Lego. Labelled some Europe photos. That was about it.

Violets

Rosemary and bee

Daffodil

Watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall in the afternoon cause didn't feel like anything much else, although did label Europe photos while doing that.  I hadn't noted seeing the movie in my blog, but it felt very familiar like maybe I had seen it.  Maybe it's just that cast, those movies are all the same (dumb).  The sweetie was feeling blah too, so we got Dumpling Inn (sadly they won't do duck pancakes for takeaway booo).

Shredded beef Peking style, Chinese broccoli, 3 cup wine chicken
Dumpling Inn

DS9 6.9 then the first episode of Tokyo Trial - William Webb! ha!

Sunday.  Okish sleep maybe. Feeling blah most of the day. Made a set of Lego. Labelled some Europe photos. That was about it.  Went out with the sweetie and waited around for him to do the shopping.  The other day I watched something on YouTube about McDonald's apple pies no longer being a thing in a lot of the world.  We still have them though!  Winning!

McDonald's Apple Pie

Sunday.  10th.  Epic roast beef for dinner.

Epic roast beef

DS9 5.24 then Cruella.

Monday.  Slept mostly ok.  Was both Neil and XL for the day.

Early cheers

Did more Europe photo labelling. At some point since I geotagged these photos nine years ago, Google has shifted the satellite imagery around, by like ten metres. So the pointer for photos is out of place compared to the images. Super annoying. Slow cooker lamb shanks for dinner yum yum yum.

Slow cooker lamb shanks

DS9 5.25. Silly episode. More Europe labelling - over a quarter of the way through it now. My eyes were tired much of the day, and irritation in my right eye from the afternoon until bed time sigh.

Tuesday.  Acts 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. Don't forget us Gentiles :)

Slept okish. Lots of decom planning. Leftovers and veggies for dinner. DS9 5.26. More Europe labelling. Rinse and repeat with sore tired eyes and irritated right eye for much of the day. Sigh.

Early cheers

Wednesday.  Romans 3:22 This righteousness is given through faith in[h] Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement,[i] through the shedding of his blood--to be received by faith.

Woke up at like 4:30.  Hurray.  Decom work and documenting settings on the new proxy system at work.

Experimented with mac and cheese at lunch.  This is just a bit of macaroni that I cooked then at the end mixed through some slices of plastic cheese I had in the freezer and a bit of milk.  I'll reserve judgement until I get my sense of taste back.

Mac and cheese experiment

Pizzas for dinner. Made three different ones this time - pepperoni, olive, and tomato and dill.  Stu assures me they were good.

Three pizzas

DS9 6.1. Finished labelling a day of photos then bed time. Hrmmm.

Thursday.  Did a script to see what groups are "member ofs" which, while they can mostly be seen in the GUI, it's buggy, so this is definitive.

Merry Christmas to me!!  Yum yum!!
Merry Christmas to me!

Had EffanC over for cheese and an epic Chong Co feast!  Thanks sweetie!!

There were Thai fish cakes, roti, crispy crab net rolls, tangy lemon squid, prik pao moo grob pork, wagyu beef salad, satay chicken, massaman curry and coconut rice.

Chong Co birthday dinner

Lovely evening.

Friday.  Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Slept like crap funnily enough. Added functionality to another script that's been annoying me since the old environment so that was super cool.  Now I can find rules where all the servers have disappeared. Slightly early finish. Kievs for dinner, DS9 6.2, early night.

Kievs and veggies

Saturday.  Slept somewhat better.  Cleaned the house, labelled some photos, did some jigsaw. Kit came over in the afternoon. They had pizza. I had leftover lamb and frozen veggies. Hurray.  Nice evening.

Sunday.  Slept like crap. Sigh. Hung out with Kit for a while and the sweetie cooked us some eggs for brunch. Then Kit wandered off. Felt pretty flat in the afternoon and didn't achieve much.

Google Image Search tells me this is a Packard Clipper....
