Sunday.  31st.  Leftovers for dinner, MacGyver, then I watched the first episode of Attack on Pearl Harbour: Minute by Minute, which was interesting, but they didn't bother to put any subtitles on the Japanese dude talking, so had to turn on CC to get them.

Also.. Chris found me a six fingered kangaroo!  Compare the pair!

Monday.  1st June.  First day of winter.  Slept okish til 3:27 then awake for over an hour. Stu barely got any sleep all night coughing and spluttering. Culled Mum photos all morning. Stu managed to get a few hours sleep after taking some cough suppressant. Then as he was making his breakfast (lunch) he said the hot water had basically run out. Confirmed by the solar app showing no hot water spikes since Saturday night. Sigh. Come to think of it my shower this morning was a little cold for the amount I normally turn the taps on for. I only checked the relief valve on it a few weeks ago. Tried again and warm (not hot) water leaked everywhere. We've powered it off for a bit, you never know a reboot might fix (spoiler: it didn't help). Why is everything so trash these days?? The previous hot water system lasted 25 years. This one lasted 10. Finished the second pass cull, down to 2468. hrmm. Leftovers for dinner then MacGyver. 19:00 is bed time right? Watched the second half of the Attack on Pearl Harbour documentary.

Tuesday.  Slept mostly okish. OMFG yes I have the power to summon clouds!!!  I'd put a thing in to 6 Star Hot Water and Plumbing last night, and luckily someone came in the morning to replace the thermostat and element in the water heater (he reckons it'll be one or the other so they usually replace both, and he replaced the overflow valve as well which was always dodgy and he said they should be replaced every five years (it was ten years old) - hot water yayy!! Did a bit of catching up at work. Felt like maybe I was getting a sore throat. By evening I was definitely feeling like I was getting sick. Sigh. Got 1/5th the way through cropping/enhancing photos for the slide show.

Wednesday.  Awake from like 1:30 to 5:30. At least that's what it felt like, but I think I got maybe an hour of sleep in there somewhere. Definitely a going back to bed and resting kind of a day. In bed much of the day. Not sleeping of course. Well Stu said I did sleep for a few minutes here and there (he's still not really any better either). Watched a documentary on the Oklahoma City bombing. TV dinners and MacGyver (finished season 3).

Thursday.  Took ages to get to sleep then somewhat restless. Felt like trash again so in bed all morning. Gave up around lunch time because my back hurt too much from lying down. Watched 9/11: One Day in America. Crust pizzas for dinner and into season 4 of MacGyver. Plus Disney+ is trash - it keeps logging me out. I think I'm getting sicker. I was counting on a two day cold like I normally get. But no, a full on chesty cough. Sigh.

Friday.  Took some Codral "night" which I think did help me sleep. Still felt pretty blerf today though. Actually managed to get more sleep late morning. Watched a 9/11 documentary (the plane that hit the Pentagon) and The People vs Larry Flynt. Kievs for dinner then MacGyver.

Kievs and gems

Saturday.  Slept somewhat okish. Still feeling blerf. I did finish the work I wanted to do on Mum's slideshow so there's that. Also pulled apart some Lego while listening to the Classic 100. They accidentally posted the winner on Instagram/Facebook which was a crackup. They deleted the post shortly after. Dumpling Inn for dinner (complete with long hair in the shredded beef ewwww) because neither of us felt like cooking up the veggies in the fridge (that I got from Chris earlier in the week), then Dancing with the Birds which was pretty cool.

Stu got some extra so we could have another two or three nights worth of dinners, on account of we haven't been shopping in forever
Dumpling Inn delivery

Sunday.  Awake for chunks of time in the night coughing. Slept in til 7:40 then lay in bed most of the morning listening to the Classic 100. Bit of Lego dismantling in the afternoon. Also felt enough energy late in the afternoon to put some stuff away from the bookshelf in the lounge room (that needs to get moved so the aircon can get put in soon).

Sunday.  24th.  Kievs for dinner (since we'd been out at the club the previous two nights and missed out).

Kievs and gems

Then MacGyver 3.11, preposterous episode.

Monday.  Got like 10 hours sleep!! Got onto work early to monitor for proxy problems, but it was pretty good most of the day (which was good because I had THREE separate phone calls with the vendor about crap) until everything happened at once and it was a crazy afternoon, but fixed some things. It was a beer kind of evening. Stu decided it was a takeaway kind of evening, so we got Chong Co (our usual prik pao moo grob, and crispy soft shelled crab makarm). Also, I'm now an officially licenced Stumpy keeper.

Chong Co delivery

Tuesday.  Somewhat restless sleep. Lots of rain!! Had a dude come and service the heater.  He's going to try and source a new main board which might hopefully fix our intermittent errors.  Mostly proxy day. Nothing too dramatic. Doing some doco and troubleshooting. Leftover Chong Co for dinner.

Wednesday.  Awake from 3:51 for ages sigh. Trying to get going on some neglected decom work in between proxy work. Stu cooked a nice rigatoni puttanesca for dinner.

Puttanesca pasta

MacGyver and second episode of Three Body Problem (watched the first episode last week).

Thursday.  Somewhat restless sleep. Another distracted day of proxies but also getting ready for another change in the afternoon. Only one other couple at drinks. Mills&Grills for dinner (this time we got a potata and a satay chicken which was quite nice). 20:30 is bed time right?

Friday.  Okish sleep. Spent much of the morning monitoring queues for any issues from the change we made last night. None. Winning! Called POETS and set about my Friday evening. Kievs for dinner then went over to EB's and we watched The Shining which I'd never actually seen before. Weird as hell though WTF?  That's Kubrick for you.

Kievs and gems

Saturday.  Okish sleep.

Rosemary flowers

Tony joined me on a walk up Mt Rogers which was nice
Trig rainbow

Finished the first pass cull of photos for Mum's 80th slide show. Down to like 3000 photos wheeee!! Went for a very short walk with the sweetie in the afternoon so he could get out of the house for a few minutes.

Flowers outside Damien's

Picked up some veggies from Chris's for dinner.  This is actually a half green meal! Honest!  There's lots of brussels sprouts on the left, as well as a veggie bake of two zucchinis and a head of broccoli on the right (and a packet of goats cheese that was best before January.  She'll be right!).

A very brown green meal

Then continued the weird wtf movie series with Mad Max. Which I've never actually seen. It's rated R and Tony said it's really violent.. but.. well.. it's not. Not compared to so much else that's out there these days. It was actually quite tame. But it's just.. fricken.. weird..!

Sunday.  Okish sleep. Awake from 5 for a while but got back to sleep and slept in til 7:36! Ploughing through photo stuff when Stu suggested we go for a drive. He's been getting a bit of cabin fever being holed up at home being sick all week. So we went out to Tharwa Sandwash. Saw a bunch of birds. And a fox. And a HEAP of blackberry and other weeds. And some turds going fishing when it literally says "no fishing" right there. So that took a few hours out of the afternoon.. hours that I really don't have to spare.. hrmmm.

The heater has been running better since the service on Tuesday.  It did have Err 50 Hi a couple of times but reset got it going.  It's actually been running ok the past few days, but they were able to source a new main board so we'll still get that installed soon.

Sunday.  17th.  My usual Sunday routine is to backup phone and download my photos. Two hours later the backup is still going.. hrmmm. Tried out the new DVD player (which we got cause the old Laser one was doing dumb things like putting out the audio but not the video. The new one is doing the same thing. Sigh. Tried turning the TV off and on again which fixed. Why is technology so crap? To watch the Chromecast we have to reboot the amp, to watch DVDs we need to reboot the TV. Probably also the old DVD player isn't actually faulty, it's probably the TV. At least the new one gets the aspect ratio right, without having to adjust the TV settings. Veggies for dinner (no photos because my phone is still backing up) and MacGyver (getting back into it now we have a workingish DVD player). Then watched These Pretzels are Making Me Thirsty. Cause that's my tagline at the moment. These proxies are making me thirsty. Gave up trying to backup phone after like FOUR HOURS of it being connected.

Monday.  Awake for a while here and there, partly stressing about the hottest 100. Not stressing, just my brain was stuck in a loop. The heater worked first go but then died after its second break. Proxy day. Stu heated up some leftover sausages and we had those with leftover for veggies. Watched a video on a birdwatcher who went to a few places we went to in Victoria. The been-there's were pretty cool. But what stunned me is they're allowing duck shooting in the Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve. What the actual F#$^??? A quick Google suggests they may have backtracked on that for the moment.. but seriously.. who the F#$% approved that in the first place???? Utterly outrageous!!!

Tuesday.  Okish sleep. Proxy day. No luck on the heater at all today. But we did get a dude from Voltair around to look at putting in a split system. Still nothing back from Climatrol about the heater though. Cloudloop have cut off cPanel/webmail/FTP due to vulnerabilities which don't have patches.. which is fine.. but they're talking about making that for "the foreseeable future" .. which would be super problematic for me (and I imagine a tonne of other customers) that are on ISPs that change IP addresses all the time.. hmm. ok they got back to me and said it should just be until they patch things (when they get a patch), so that's fine.  The new DVD player is a bit dumb.  Had reboot the tv this time to get it to work. Maybe there was actually nothing wrong with the old one (which was doing the same thing). hrmmmmmmm. At least this one sends the right aspect ratio to the TV, so no fiddling on the tv to make it show 4:3 for these ancient tv shows. Also today David sent me a link to a post by the Canberra Reptile Zoo saying that blue tongue lizards are no longer exempt from needing a licence. So then had to spend ages trying to figure out Access Canberra's website for information (there may have been some in some very long PDFs but nothing clear and simple that I could find about the changes until you actually load up the licence request form). I also don't really have any good photos of the whole enclosure so just sent the best ones I have to get it done.

Wednesday.  Took a while to get to sleep (restless) but then slept mostly ok. 12.4C in the house sigh. Proxy day.  Went to Hungry Cracks with Con and Jim and tried the Korean BBQ fried chicken burger which was pretty decent.  We even sat outside.

Hungry Cracks Korean BBQ Fried Chicken burger

TV dinner for dinner.

Thursday.  Took a while to get to sleep (not restless, just awake). 11.1C in the house.  XL got a couple of KFC Hot Rods and gave me one - was pretty good!  Thanks XL!

KFC Hot Rods

In the afternoon the desktop guys released the new proxy to a bunch of peeps. Good drinks. Mills&Grills again and MacGyver.

Friday.  Logged onto work early to monitor for any problems from the proxy rollout. A few minor things but nothing too crazy. Well other than Microsoft's Whiteboard getting itself into a login loop. FFS why is Microsoft so BAD at literally everything?? Called Climatrol in the morning.  They never received my web form submission.  Sigh.  They're going to come next week to look at the heater.  Called POETS and we headed out to the club. Got the fire going and had tv dinners for dinner and afterwards Chris and Geoff came over and we just chatted for a while which was nice.

Us at the club

Saturday.  In the morning all around the toilet block and shed were all these big beautiful moths! I tried to save a couple of them from getting squished by people stepping on them in the doorways, but I actually sentenced them to death because a raven was watching me and was like "easy breakfast!!".

Moth at the club

Moth at the club

Raven with a moth

Went to the shed to see if they needed any help, but at the time the only thing going on was balloon blowing up. I don't do balloons. Having them overinflate and pop scares me too much, plus I can't even tie up the things, never have been able to. So left and raked leaves for like an hour. Then the sweetie and I went for a walk to look for birds. Saw a white-throated treecreeper which was pretty cool (it found a moth as well!).

White-throated treecreeper

Did some tapestry for a while. At 14:00 they had an afternoon tea. There was HEAPS of food, but I didn't eat too much - didn't want to spoil my appetite for dinner.

The shed looked spectacular!!

Then really just hang around chatting to peeps before dinner. Dinner was catered which was pretty cool. Quite a bit more expensive than self-catering but they do all the prep *and* all the dishes!!  (they did run out of a few things unfortunately).

I was hanging out for crackling but in the end they couldn't make much, but they were super sweet and gave it to me! I was honoured!

There were a bunch of speeches and cake cutting (three of them!!) and then we just hung out.

I also may have looked a bit like the Queen with my stoopid boofy hair and the "50" tiara that I wore that I got for my 50th.  Several people said so!

Bit of a late night, and we saw a tawny frogmouth outside, feasting on the moths.

Sunday.  Late night, but awake from 5:27. Hurray. Came home and had a pretty quiet day (super tired). Tried a few times to get the heater going but with no success. Stu did a power cycle on it and managed to get it to run for one cycle.  iTunes backed up my phone properly this week.

Sunday.  19th April.  Leftover curry for dinner then Professor T 4.3. Then I continued watching a Disney series The 90s Greatest, which has been a bit lame but a bit of memories. What was freaky is the second last episode looked at the Waco seige and the Oklahoma City bombing.. both 19th April.. woah!!!

Monday.  Slept okish I think. Was looking at ways to download the URL categories for our new proxies.  They literally don't have a way to do it.  They just say, oh use this third party python script that someone has written to call the APIs yourself.  Lame.  Then I found they'd upgraded our version of Postman to a cloud version which forces you to create an account on their cloud and sign in to use most features.  Except we block that because it's a massive security risk to, you know, save your passwords in clear text on remote servers.  Not to mention that by upgrading they blatted all my collections which filled me with all kinds of rage.  Then I got home and found the Chinese ebayer I bought a lens cap with a string off, sold a plain cap with no string.  Like how hard is it??   Filled with rage at that too.  Later she partially refunded me (it was only like $5 to start with) since it didn't match the photo.  It does seem to be a genuine Canon lens cap too, although can you believe "Made in Japan" printed on it if it came from China?  Stu cooked up some broccolini in a nice sauce and we had that leftover sausages from the Christmas party, which was very nice.  Then Professor T 4.4.

Broccolini and sausages

Took ages to get to sleep, woke up early, and Stu was SICK in the middle of the night! He never gets sick (almost never). He was feeling slightly nauseous before dinner. No idea what set him off. Fighting with the new proxies all day. Trying to get my head around their dumbness. Although did find one super useful feature in their URL categories (which is utterly needed to do the daftness of how their URL categories actually work) - it lets you find other places that has a wildcard (because you need to add an explicit URL to the wildcard category, otherwise it won't be included in the wildcard.  Don't even get me started on that trash). Cooked up some brussels sprouts, capsicum and potato gems for dinner.

Potato gems and veggies

Professor T 4.5. OMFG I hate ebay so much. I've been needing to sell some of Vic's Lego, but ebay make it as painful as they possibly can. They don't *do* letters, so even though I can fit stuff in a large letter box (<2 cm thick) if you try and choose that it blanks out what the local postage will be and only shows you international (at $13-$30). So you choose regular package which is like $7-$9 which isn't toooo bad considering it has tracking, but they don't give you any provision to charge for packaging (the box cost me like ~$1). And then they will charge like 13% FEE on POSTAGE, which is money they literally steal out of your profit. But if you don't jump through eBay's hoops (and include tracking) then you're at the mercy of the buyer whether they'll just lie and say the package didn't turn up, and ebay will literally take your money back off you. Then you have to go to Australia Post and argue with them to try and get a refund which they'll only do up to $100 unless you buy insurance. It's the most stressful thing ever. I hate it. I really really wish there was a better alternative to ebay. And don't even get me started on Windoze 11. If I'm on another desktop and click to open windows explorer, it takes me to ANOTHER DESKTOP ENTIRELY!!! Same with Notepad. Double click on a text file on one desktop, and it opens notepad ON ANOTHER DESKTOP!! How is it that windows is STILL SO BAD???

Wednesday.  Slept mostly okish I think. Didn't get much done all morning - too many meetings. Tried out Gianni's with Neil at lunch and had their lunch special. Managed to get something working on the new proxies that I'd been fighting with. Turns out someone else just hadn't done their job properly and my stuff worked once it was fixed. Sigh. Leftover Japanese curry for dinner (we're almost through it!), then Professor T 4.6 (end of season 4).

Thursday.  Took a while to get to sleep but okish sleep after that. Lots of doing doco today and testing the new proxies. Quiet drinks, only one other table. Made pizzas and garlic bread for dinner and watched Death in Paradise 15.1 since Professor T season 5 isn't on Prime yet.

Pizzas and garlic bread

Friday.  Restless sleep. Distracted morning. For lunch we went to Bentspoke to celebrate Neil having worked there 50 years!! It was actually last year that the anniversary came around, but he was recovering from knee surgery so it got put off. Lovely afternoon and around twenty people came.

Saturday.  Anzac Day.  Went to bed as soon as I got home last night, okish sleep, considering. Nice quiet day just doing house stuff and photo stuff.

I may have made some Anzac biscuits.  These were a lot drier than last time (I measured everything properly for a change) so they held their shape a lot better (the last ones melted everywhere).

Kievs and gems for dinner (since we missed out last night) and then watched Amelia which was somewhat interesting.

Sunday.  Mostly ok sleep but awake super early (half an hour earlier than normal) to go out to Mulligan's Flat for a bird walk of sorts. I've never actually been out there. Didn't see a huge number of birds (we were really just scoping out the place and went for a walk round the dam) but there was a little flock of red-rumped parrots having a bath which was pretty cool. Then we went to Cafè Luzon, a Filipino inspired cafe for brunch. I had the eggs benedikto which was quite nice although the spinach left that weird spinach feeling in my mouth long after. Then just a quiet day, and did some dotz and some music.

Sunday.  14th.  Backdating this a few days.  Had leftovers for dinner then we watched a documentary "Lost Melbourne" about the loss of a lot of old buildings in Melbourne in the name of progress. Melbourne is still a lot better off than a lot of cities though, even Sydney.

Christmas tree with wrapped presents

Monday.  Awake from 12 for ages, then again from 5 for ages. Hurray.  Busy day not achieving much.  Went to Four Winds with Tony for our now annual tradition of wine and pizza.  Such a lovely place out there.

Tuesday.  Crap sleep. Awake every hour or so feeling hot and needing to cool down. Another day of not achieving much. But we did have a division Christmas party at work which was nice. Came like second in the two lolly guessing competitions. After work we went and picked up the mother type person at Jolimont then went to the Labor Club for dinner.

I may have given those anchovies to the sweetie

Mum at the Labor Club

Got home and looked at Mum's slide show of Croatia and Greece, then we looked at all of Dad's photos of Tasmania.

Wednesday.  Restless sleep. Fairly chilled morning, did a bit of cleaning.

Table set for Christmas lunch

Eventually D/K/S left Junee so I made apple sauce then a potato bake then another potato bake then the roast pork then a veggie tray bake.

Blue cheese potato bake (with thyme), bacon potato bake, brussels sprouts, sweet potato, spring onion and bacon (with hazelnuts), apple sauce.  Just missing the pork which is in the oven by this point

Just finished doing all that when they arrived - great timing! Kellie brought a heap of noms so we had those and did photos and presents and stuffs while lunch cooked.

Played a game of Five Crowns although I got super frustrated near the end when several rounds in a row people went out before I'd even had one turn, or maybe had just had one turn. So upsetting. I don't even know who won in the end.  Played a bit of Pictionary but just playing through cards not actually using the board. Put on Flying High in the evening. D/K/S left and Mum and I finished watching the movie ourselves.  All in all a lovely day.

Thursday.  Awake from some time after 2. Hurray. Dropped Mum off at Jolimont then went to work. Did a bit of party prep and DC rules work. At drinks I took up all the leftover cans of drinks from the work family party that I bought off Neil and washed them all (they were all covered in dirt). Pizzas for dinner then Love Actually but it was too late a night :(

Friday.  Awake from 4:53.  Sigh.  Then I started thinking about the day's party and all bets were off.  Hurray.  Party prep in the morning then party all afternoon!

Party setup crew

Sadly I didn't catch any birds this year.  Leftovers for dinner then we watched part 1 of a documentary on the Gamestop nonsense.

Saturday.  Awake from like 3:30. Hurray.  Spent much of the morning sorting out the rubbish and recycling from the party. Super annoyingly, some helpful person tried to clean up, and very helpfully threw out a bunch of the plastic forks. Pissed off about that because those things are irreplaceable!!! I also chipped a tooth on the last of the pork crackling I had at lunch. Sigh.  Storms and epic clouds in the evening.

Sunday.  19th.  Super yummy roast pork for dinner.  2.5kg so barely fit in my baking dish.  There may have been a lot of fat..!

Because it was so big, the crackling turned out really well, but the meat stayed nice and tender.  It was awesome!

Pork crackle

Roast veggies

Stu decided we should watch Futurama.  They're into season 13.  But honestly they should just STOP.  It's done its dash.  13.1 was pretty dumb too.  Then I finished watching The Green Mile.

Monday.  Slept like crap - awake for ages because I was hot.  Another disjointed distracted day at work. The temperature today got to like 32C! Turned the cooler on for the first time this year. Yeah last week we had the heater on (briefly), this week we had the cooler on. That's Canberra for you. Leftover pork for dinner. Futurama 13.2 then blog reading and photo filing.

Tuesday.  1 Timothy 2:11 A woman[a] should learn in quietness and full submission. 12 I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man;[b] she must be quiet. 13 For Adam was formed first, then Eve. 14 And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner. 15 But women[c] will be saved through childbearing--if they continue in faith, love and holiness with propriety. .... yeah hmmm.  Again, makes you wonder how much of this is cultural.

Slept like crap again - awake for ages because I was hot. Even with the cooler fan going.

Little white flowers

Busy being NEIL in the morning and not getting any other work done. My Christmas present arrived! ;) To be revealed.. one day..!  Penultimate nuking session, finished the Wasgij jigsaw, then walked up and visited Neil.

Neil visit

Hospital flowers

Then battled peak hour traffic to get home. Canberra has peak hour traffic.. who knew!? Leftover pork and veggies (refried in the "aspic" - I don't know why you'd want to eat that stuff cold anyway - just use it as a kind of "stock" to fry stuff in - much more yummierer!) for dinner, Futurama 13.3, blogged my last two Diamond Dotz birds sets.

Wednesday.

Thursday.  1 Timothy 4:10 That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.  .. "all people" .. and "especially"..? what does that even mean?

Okish sleep.  Opened the door under the "angel" tank to get the food out and it was tougher to open than usual.  Which usually means swollen chipboard from a leak.  Except I couldn't find where the leak was coming from.  hrmmmm.

NEIL for a bit in the morning then fighting with new proxies. If you turn off inspection on a site it can't figure out what browser you're using, and so it blocks you (we block Firefox from general browsing and only allow it to some sites). But it won't give you an error, you just get a connection reset. So dumb. Then fighting with the test mail servers after someone spammed the hell out of them.

Gladioli

Went into drinks for the first time in months. Then it was a trivia night. It was one of THOSE trivia nights - stoopidly complicated question/marking setup (like three parts to an answer, each with two parts, and if you get one out of the two you get half a point, but if you get both parts right you get two points, oh and you have to mark each others, it's not marked centrally so there's no consistency in the scoring). Yeah so fricken dumb. One round wasn't even trivia, it was look at this picture for 10 seconds, then answer the crappiest stuff, like how many ears were in this picture, or how many feet were in this other picture. Not even trivia. Dumb dumb dumb. But my expecations for these trivia nights are so low now that I just didn't care. And I had bubbles. I don't even know what the final scores were, I didn't get a photo. I think we came third. They spun a wheel to determine who'd run the next one, and it missed us by one. Winning!  Also, Gin picked me up some Subway to have for dinner.. first Subway in like three months!!

Friday.  1 Timothy 5:23 Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses.  Yeah cause fresh water back in the day was usually contaminated, and alcohol killed a lot of the germs.

Logged onto work briefly to be NEIL for the overnight stuff, then took an RDO.

Orange poppy

Did some washing, did some weeding, went shopping (actually had fairly successful shopping mission.  Was chatting to Faye at Subway at lunch about how I'd been away with the C word, and she gave me a free cookie! So sweet :) ), took some cans for recycling and suddenly it's 15:45. And nowhere near enough done on my todo list. hrmmm.

I've missed Subway so much..!!  So much that I had it for dinner last night then lunch today haha
Subway

Drinks at Jo's in the afternoon and Tony came too so that was a nice catchup.

Me and bubbles

Cooked up some veggies to go with some leftover pork. Futurama 13.5.  Then I watched "Apollo 13: Survival" documentary on Netflix which was pretty interesting.  Jim Lovell only died a couple of months ago, and Marilyn only a couple of years ago.

Saturday.  1 Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.  .. not necessarily "money".. but the "love of money".

Got a few things done in the morning then we headed out. First up to "The Shed", an offshoot of the Green Shed. Quite a bit smaller than the old shed, but he only has the lease til December so he may find something bigger (and with better parking would be nice!). They still charged me $3 for jigsaws, although I have a feeling they only did that after I asked (they revised the total down). They charged $2 each for some plates which I thought was a little high. Oh well.

The Shed

This would fit in nicely with Mum's collection :)

The Shed tea set

Then next door to the other second hand place there (Down Memory Lane, I think??).  Mum would definitely recognise this ;)

Cornflower blue Corningware

Then out to the club for the "Spooktacular" halloween night. But first up went for a wander with the sweetie.

Then had a good long chat to Chris and Geoff. Then it was up to the shed for drinks and a spectacular charcuterie board, and an amazing dinner with lots of different things. Little bit of a late night but not too bad.

Sunday.  Got up and went and tidied up the shed a bit, with a bit of help from Brenton. Then home via the Scottish Restaurant, which took them 18 MINUTES to deliver our food from when we first arrived. So much for FAST food. Also. BOM updated their website a few days ago, and in the process shut down the APIs used by third party apps for the radar. TWITTER MUCH??? I'm so pissed off that RainRadarAU doesn't work anymore - I always preferred it to the BOM app. Hopefully there will be enough backlash/complaints and they'll restore them. Got a few things done in the afternoon and pfft, there goes the weekend. Sigh.

Sunday.  12th.  Reheated the last of the lamb and had it with a cauliflower bake, potato, brussels sprouts and garlic.

Lamb and veggies

Wednesday 2.3. Then Lilo & Stitch (the live action one from 2025). Lolz Tia Carrere as the social worker (she played Nani in the original). And Cobra Bubbles is split out into his CIA character. A lot of it is pretty similar to the original. And as live action remakes go this one was actually pretty decent. Certainly a lot better than The Lion King or Aladdin.

Monday.  Somewhat restless but slightly better sleep.  Achieved precisely nothing today. Too many interruptions and All The People wanting All The Things. Past half way through nuking.

Purple irises

Leftovers for dinner. Wednesday 2.4. Photo stuffs.

Tuesday.  More restless sleep. Another busy day of crap, although did manage to actually achieve a couple of things. Nuking session 9. Driving home and noticed all the fluff is out!! Too late to start studying?  Leftovers for dinner then Wednesday 2.5. Lots of photo stuff. Then tried to blog jigsaws but I kept making mistakes because it was getting late and I was tired and half watching Anti Chef videos which was distracting me.

Wednesday.  Restless sleep again (hot and sweaty every five minutes). The koels are back in town!!! They remind me of home.  Mowed the lawn when I got home from nuking (it was as tall as me (kidding .. but it was super tall)).  Then went out for petrol.  And KFC.  Whoops.  Wednesday 2.6.

Thursday.  Some turd dumped two empty rolls of fake grass on our nature strip overnight.  They're a few metres long and we have no idea what to do with them.  I fricken HATE people.

I hate people

Domino for dinner.  Whoops.  Wednesday 2.7.

Friday.

Paver weed strawberries

Fighting with the stoopid new proxies.  Trying to allow encrypted files from certain sites.  But can't get it to work.  So dumb.  Kievs for dinner then the finale of Wednesday season 2.

Kievs and fries

Then I watched the first half of The Green Mile (I'd seen a documentary on it earlier today or yesterday and was inspired).

Saturday.  Spent much of the morning doing housework and weeding.  This was not part of the plan.  Bit of photo stuff and hobbies.

Gladioli

Got some sausages from Chris's and did a creamy mushroom sauce with some cream and mushrooms that really needed using up.  And frozen veggies.  Which the sweetie didn't much care for haha.  Maybe he can cook dinner next time.

Sausages and creamy mushrooms

Then we watched Passengers, which we last saw on the Queen Mary 2 in 2017.

Sunday.  More nights of waking up hot and sweaty.  Woke up at 5:30 to a cacophony of birds.  A day of All The Things.  Not enough time.  Too many things to do.  Slide scanning took too long and then I had to cook dinner so no time for music.  This was not part of the plan.  On a lighter note, it smells like Christmas in here.

Sunday.  27th.  Made up a potato bake from some of the potato I'd sliced up for the club but ran out of space to use on the night.

Potato bake

DS9 5.12. Watched John Oliver's take on AI Slop. Early night.

Monday.  Happy birthday Dad! Got a bit of cleaning done and a bunch of networking stuff done for Jim. Leftovers for dinner then DS9 5.13. Europe photo culling, started Black Mirror 7.5 (but ran out of time to finish before bed).

Tuesday.

Acts 17: 31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead. .. God raised Jesus from the dead and will return to judge the world.

Went to bed pretty early, but then woke up at 4 for at least an hour. Poisoning day 2.

Poison

Quiet afternoon mostly doing jigsaw and made a potato bake with the last of the potato leftover from the club, and also some tomatoes that were very old and needed using, and the last two mini capsicums.

Potato bake and veggies

Also finished Eulogy on Black Mirror. DS9 5.14. Earlyish night.

Wednesday.

Acts 19:4 Paul said, "John's baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus."

Got to sleep ok but awake from 4:30 for a while. Quiet day. Leftovers for dinner, DS9 5.15. Earlyish night.

Thursday.

Acts 20:24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the good news of God's grace... Good news everyone!

Slept mostly ok. Bit of crap day, morning just disappeared, got to do some cleaning, but then sunk into a hole of trying to clean up a mess that's been festering for ages.

I've seen my birds once since last winter.  They still came to see me today.
Magpie

Pizzas for dinner. Made a nice potato, blue cheese and rosemary pizza. Well Stu said it was nice. I can't tell anymore, salty stuff doesn't taste salty.

Olive oil base with some herbs and garlic powder, bit of pizza cheese, some slices of potato bake, blue cheese, spring onion, rosemary and a bit more cheese.
Potato bake pizza

I'll have to make it again when my sense of taste comes back...

DS9 5.16.

Far out I hate Apple. It's utter trash. I've missed a couple of calls from the mother type person this week.  She left messages that I played, and then I replied via SMS. But because Apple mixes up the home phone and mobile phone into the one thread, when I reply it disappears into the ether and she never gets my messages. So I've had to split out her contact into two so that the mobile is not related to the home phone. Why is Apple so bad??? Why why why???

Cranky and bloated. And the trashy dog abusing neighbour's dog is barking again. Those people should be banned from owning dogs.

Friday.  Slept okish. Mostly staring at a big mess all day. Found some stuff to delete late in the afternoon. Kievs for dinner. Black Mirror 7.6.

Kiev Fridays

Saturday.  Slept okish. Very quiet slo-mo day. I did get out after lunch to see my birds and try and stimulate the bowels. Started my next Diamond Dotz picture. Dumpling Inn delivery for dinner.

Dumpling Inn delivery

Then watched Return of the Jedi.

Sunday.  Slept okish. Another fairly quiet day although did get a few things done.  OMFG windows *and* chrome have remembered my blog image folder settings!!!

Monday.  9th.  Nice and cool overnight.  You'd think I'd be able to sleep.  You'd be wrong.  Took ages to get to sleep.  Busy morning before work doing all the dusting/vacuuming/weeding/cleaning the kitchen, and then time to go to work.  Cert renewal crap and meetings all day.  Kievs for dinner (was too hot and humid over the weekend to think about turning the oven on).  Did some catchup blogging, then bed.

Chicken kievs

Also waved at the peeps up on the space station.

Moon and ISS

Tuesday.  Nice and cool overnight.  You'd think I'd be able to sleep.  You'd be wrong.  Took ages to get to sleep.  Busy morning before work doing all the dusting/vacuuming/weeding/cleaning the kitchen, and then time to go to work.

Yeah a rinse and repeat.

Planned out some more decom work for later in the week.  Started looking at Daniel's quality report script.  Brain might have exploded.  Final Journey of Australian Science at the Shine Dome, which was back to hard science again which was pretty cool.  This one was related to the work of Sir John Carew Eccles.  They even had some of his family members there.

Shine Dome Christmas tree

They had Prof Stephen Redman and Professor Lucy Palmer talking about their work with neurons and electricity in the brain.

Journey of Australian Science

Dinner at Terra afterwards.  We split a 220g beef brisket smoked steak and had charred broccolini and brisket fat chips as sides.

Beef brisket (smoker) 220g | salsa verde $39

Dinner at Terra

Charred broccolini | burnt miso butter, chili oil, garlic chips $18

Brisket with charred broccolini

Brisket fat chips $12

Brisket with brisket fat chips

I enjoyed the sides.  The brisket itself I found a little.. dry..   I'm used to slower cooker brisket which is basically confit brisket.  This was done in a smoker so wasn't quite the same.  It wasn't bad, just wasn't what I'm used to.  It really needed the sauces.

Terra, Civic

Nice view of the tower on the way back to the car.

Wednesday.  Um.  I think I slept better.

Thursday.  12/12/24 - cool date!  I think I slept ok.

Oh, I planted some mini capsicums the other week.  Some have sprouted.  At least one has been eaten already.

Mini capsicum sprout

Got to do some decom work in the afternoon.  Ok drinks, but ate wayyy too much in the way of chips and sausage.  Still made pizzas but Stu ate most of mine.  Watched some more Jamie and Julia.

Friday.  took ages to get to sleep, then woke up at like 4:30.  Sigh.  Party day!!!!  The sweetie very kindly gave me a lift to work (he was working from home).  Picked up All The Sausages ($300 worth!!) and then just getting everything ready.  Went shopping with XL and Jo.  Then partied all afternoon!

The Chrises

It was super hot though.  A special thanks to Louise and Tony for cooking the chicken and veggie stuff cause noone else wanted to go out in the heat!

Louise and Tony barbequeing

Typical though.. you give the camera to someone else and they cut off the tshirts and get all sky.  Uncropped.
Tony, Chris and me

Ho Ho Hold my .. bird.. ?  It's tradition for me to catch birds at these things.  I was never expecting to catch a honeyeater though!!
Hold my bird

Finished up maybe like 19:30.  Stu took two loads of crap home.  Bestest sweetie ever!!  Con and Ward kicked on somewhere.  Tony biked it home.  And we gave Doc a lift home.  By the time we'd unpacked enough and organised, it was after nine by the time I got to bed.  Doh.

Saturday.  Slept relatively well.  Spent most of the morning organising the leftovers and party crap.

Party aftermath

For lunch I thought I'd see if any of the leftovers would give me food poisoning...

Food poisoning trial

Mostly Lego filing in the afternoon.  Late in the afternoon I wondered how hard it would be to get a weather pixie on my blog...

Sunday.  Took ages to get to sleep (like 23:00).  Then woke up at 4:30.  Sigh.  Scripting, house stuff (two loads of washing up even! and ran the dishwasher for the second time in two days), Lego filing.  Put on my cd jukebox and listened to random crap all day.  Billy Joel sang about The King and I, and a few songs later Shall We Dance came up..!!  Funny stuff.
