Monday night I started feeling sick.  Just a cold.  But after having so much time off I felt bad about taking any more time off, so carried on.  Fortunately it wasn't a bad cold so that was good.  Only lasted a few days.

Pretty quiet week otherwise, just continuing tv watching of MacGyver, Fuller House, Discovery, and we started watching season 7 of Homeland.  I also started scanning the last two analogue photo albums of Mum's (there were two holiday albums squirrelled away), and started labelling my last holiday photos.

This weekend has also been really quiet.  I haven't left the house!  Just getting stuff done, filing photos, labelling photos, doing jigsaws, basically weekendy type stuff.  Last night we watched Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit, which was a bit of fun, if a bit far fetched.

Thursday morning I took the sticky tape off the two smaller incisions.  I was expecting a scabby mess, but no it all came off cleanly and there was just a little red line left underneath.  Put on trackie daks, which was first time I'd been out of pyjama bottoms since I got home.

Thursday night I got sick of lying on my back and sides and attempted sleeping on my stomach, but it still hurt a bit too much.

Friday morning I took the sticky tape off the larger incision.  This tape hurt more to get off, but again, the incision was clean.

Friday evening Jenn came over and Stu ordered a LOT of Turkish food and we had that and chatted and had on the second draft of the slide show - still way too long at 900 photos (but down from the 1300 of the first draft).  Very annoyingly, I'd put a whole heap of heat mats down on the table, but there was so much food it ended up sitting on the table, and did a heap of heat damage to the surface of the table.  It's really obvious in three places.  Not happy Jan!!

Friday night I was able to sleep on my belly more comfortably.

Saturday was approaching normality (still need to be careful) but had quite a productive day Getting Things Done.

In the evening we watched Discovery, and Sherlock Holmes (the Robert Downey Jr version).  It wasn't too bad, altho some of my gripes ("tomorrow" actually being the day after, a boat that size being able to sink in the Thames, and popping up from the Palace of Westminster at Tower Bridge) all made their way into the IMDB goofs page heh.

Last night the entrance smoke detector went off at 3:30 for no good reason.  We took it down and I stayed awake for like an hour but no smoke, so will need to investigate that today (could have been dust stirred up by all the wind - the kitchen bench was all gritty yesterday, or maybe a spider).  Edit: battery was at 7.5 Volts, so think it's probably worth changing the battery.

Today I'm in jeans for the first time in over a week.  Seems to be doing ok.

Saturday night Fiona made quite a nice chicken soup for dinner, they drank a whole lot of my wine, and we watched Kung Fu Panda.

Fiona's chicken soup

Sunday Stu and Fiona went off to the bus depot markets for the morning.  In the afternoon Stu went to Serkan's to trade fish, and Fiona went for a wander.  So I prepared dinner while it was peace and quiet.

Did I mention that EVERYONE AROUND ME WAS SICK??  Stu had been sniffling all week but it got worse on the weekend.  And Fiona had the tail end of a cold and/or tonsilitus so I spent the entire weekend in a state of tension and wishing everyone WOULD STAY OUT OF MY AIR.  Because the absolute last thing you want when you've had abdominal surgery is a cough.  Not impressed.

In the evening they drank a whole lot more of my wine and we had roast pork for dinner and watched Kung Fu Panda 2.

Monday returned to peace and quiet and I tidied the house (very slowly and gently) in between stuff on Netflix.  By the end of the day I felt a whole lot better.

Watched Discovery in the evening.

Still can't sleep on my belly, and in fact have been having a bit of trouble actually getting to sleep - probably because I'm just not doing enough to warrant being tired at night.  Only took panadeine the first two nights, other than that haven't had any painkillers at all.  As Chrissie said after her c-section - pain is your friend - reminds you to take it easy so as not to rupture anything.

So Wednesday afternoon my bowels were feeling a little off.  Nothing unusual, can get that sometimes (all too often) if I eat too much bad food.  Or even regular food.  After dinner I was pretty gassy and burpy, moreso than usual.

But throughout the night it got worse rather than better.  Woke up at 4:00 in some discomfort.

No nausea, so unlikely to be food poisoning.

Oh wait, wave of nausea Thursday morning but overcame it and went to work.

Another one hit me at work but overcame that as well.

By the third wave I thought I'd let it have its way.  Maybe I'd feel better.

But I didn't.

So after feeling like crap I decided to go home at 10:00.

Lay down but couldn't rest - too uncomfortable.  I had a tiny piece of cheese and a little water but not really very much.

Late morning and I'm doing the doctor google thing.  Symptoms were edging towards appendicitis.  Even though I wasn't in any real pain, just strong discomfort.  But it did hurt when I poked around my appendix.  Decided not to eat or drink anything more "just in case".

So drove myself to the walkin clinic.  Stu had already paid for parking for the day right there anyway, so no problem leaving the car there.  It was probably about 12:45 when I got there.  Had to wait ages, and was feeling very uncomfortable.  Eventually they took pity on me and I think I might have got bumped up a position.  The nurse had a bit of a poke and thought that yes I should probably go to the hospital.  Called the sweetie and he drove me over to the hospital.

Had to wait quite a long time there as well, so it's well and truly mid afternoon by now.  Had explained my symptoms to the triage nurse on the desk, and eventually got seen by a doctor.  He did a bit of a history and poked me a bit, and then stuck in a cannula (in my very dehydrated veins, first go, to his credit) and took some blood.  Asked me for a urine sample (did I mention I was dehydrated?  and I'd peed when I arrived at the hospital, so that was a bit of a challenge).  He asked for mid stream but got end stream, there was so little.

So he comes back shortly after and says he's admitting me - yep, likely appendicitis.  18000 white blood count, elevated temperature and some of the classic symptoms.  Fun.

So I'm in a bed in emergency.  Eventually a surgeon comes by and gets all the details all over again (I've told the story four or five times today already).  They were considering a CT but decided not to (for unrelated reasons), and at 16:45 decided to load me up with fluids and do an ultrasound at 17:45.  By 17:35 my bladder hurt like hell.  How was I going to hold it in for another half hour (at least) ??  Then around 17:45 they were like, meh, not going to bother with the ultrasound, just going to do the surgery.  So I peed! Yayyyyy!!   (dude for ultrasound eventually turned up - at 17:55 - I really don't think I would have lasted that long).  I did get sick again though because I was so hungry (it's a thing I do, don't ask).  Nothing there though except bile.  Hurrah.

The sweetie had gone back to work in the afternoon, and went home to get changed.  I let him know where I was up to, that they were going to do surgery, so he thought he'd grab some dinner on the way in and then come see me before I went off to surgery.  Except maybe around 18:30 off I went, and never got to see him :(:(

Got wheeled through the hospital upside down and backwards, which is somewhat disorienting.  Went to the OR prep.  More doctors and nurses and anesthesiologists and told my story yet again.  They asked me to say in my own words why I was there, and I said "for an appendectomy" and the admitting nurse scolded me for my American usage - "it's appendicectomy didn't you know??"

Then in to the OR.  Everyone was gloved, but still *touching things*.  I'm sure that pen and paper isn't sterile... hrmmm.

Scooted over onto the operating bed and got poked and prodded some more.  Pain killers (they weren't wrong about making me light headed) and the next thing I knew was calls of Karen Karen Karen and it was all over.  A couple of hours later.  Couldn't feel any pain (figured that would change) and felt quite tired.

After about twenty minutes waiting for my heart rate to lower I got wheeled to my room for the night, and I'm like, where's the sweetie?  He was just outside! Yayy!  He'd called my mum and some family/friends to let everyone know what was happening, bestest sweetie ever.

I didn't die!

So there's still more poking and prodding and checking obs, when I all I wanted was some food and to brush my teeth and go to the toilet and go to bed.  But everything operates on hospital time.  They'd wander off and it'd be ten or fifteen minutes before they came back.  So it was after midnight by the time I got to turn lights out.

Late night snack

Not that I slept very well.  I don't really like sleeping on my back but on my sides was too painful.  A teenager came in across the way in a lot of pain.  The lady next to me had all sorts of complications and also in a lot of pain.  Had my pulse and blood pressure read a couple of times.  At 4:00 when they came in for something I said I may as well go pee again.  Dozed but didn't really get any sleep.

The morning dragged on as well.  They said I could go home that day, but I got a steady stream of various people come by.  Breakfast (I was starving) wasn't til 8:45.

Hospital breakfast

The sweetie came by at some point too.  But nothing much happened.  A bit before midday my temp was up a little and I was in a bit more pain, so I was worried I was getting an infection.  But likely it was just the panadol wearing off that I'd had at 5:30.  Time kept dragging.  Had a late lunch (probably too much food) but still waiting around to go home.

Hospital view

Hospital lunch

Finally FINALLY I could go at about 14:30.

Rested with the sweetie for a while, but didn't really sleep.  Then he went off to pick up Fiona from Jolimont, and they went and had beer and meat on a stick.  Well not quite.  They did to go to Bentspoke for beer, and to the multicultural festival for potato on a stick (and a couple of other things).  Because I'd had such a big late lunch I had popcorn for dinner.  Because, fibre!  Watched some old episodes of Naked Chef (man he was so *young* when he started, and Jules was just his girlfriend hehe).  Started watching Muriel's Wedding on Netflix, even though I have it on DVD.  Silly really.  Then Stu and Fiona came home.  They brought frozen chips so we heated some of those up.  But it did mean I went to bed a lot later than I wanted to.

Had some panadeine (from my stash before they stopped selling the stuff over the counter) and actually slept quite well.  Was able to sleep on my sides for some of the night, and slept in til about 7:30.

Today Stu and Fiona went off to do some food shopping and I watched the rest of Muriel's Wedding and Netflix and tried to select photos for the holiday slideshow.  I've been mostly just sitting up.  I was never a fan of lying on the couch anyway (hurts my back unless I get things just right), and it's a lot harder to get up from the couch.  This afternoon has mostly just been chilling.  Nice and quiet like.  I also found the web archive of Julie Powell's blog, so have been reading that from the beginning.  Not really sure why some people hated it so much.  It reads like someone just doing it for themselves, not out to make a name for themselves.  She does sound like she was burning the candle at both ends though!

My butt does hurt from sitting so much though...  normally I'm bouncing up and down a *lot* more!

So an eventful couple of days.  But of everything, from appendicitis, to surgery, to recovery, the single most painful thing of the whole experience was them taking off the sticky tape holding in my cannula!   (followed by holding my pee for the ultrasound that never happened :) )

Sick Week

Took Tuesday off because, sick.  Watched Netflix all day.  Started with the 1994 Black Beauty which was a beautiful, if sentimental, movie.  Then a documentary on the Lego House in Billund.  After lunch watched Uptown Girls because, Brittany Murphy and Dakota Fanning; and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.  Both were a bit silly but a bit of fun.

Wednesday/Thursday was still sick but worked from home.

Friday I went in although probably should have stayed home.

Still coughing.

Yesterday was totally a catchup day.  Spent all day scanning seventy six USA 2004 photos, and housework.  Cleaned the kitchen (twice), washed the bed sheets, put clothes, towels and other things away, replaced a light bulb, dusted and vacuumed the whole house, cleaned stuff, and booked our flights and hotel for Melbourne for Kit's graduation.  Felt like I was on my feet most of the day but still only managed 3660 steps.

We must have watched Order of the Phoenix last Sunday night.  We watched The Half Blood Prince on Friday night and Deathly Hallows Part I last night.  Also watched Peter Pan on Friday night because, Jason Isaacs.

Something learnt:  "muscle memory" is a thing!  Different to conscious memory.  Brains are cool.  (From Henry Molaison's story on Ted)

Thursday was whisky night, and opened the new bar.

Whisky night 2018

Friday we took the day off to go do shopping for the club Christmas in July, which we've now cooked for the past four years.  Headed out Friday arvo and fired up the pizza oven and had some yummy pizzas.

Saturday was FIRE all morning which was pretty awesome.  Not so awesome: having holes burnt in my jumper - that I wasn't even wearing!!  It was a ways off, but not protected from the raining leaves of fire from the other gentlemen being a little too enthusiastic piling stuff onto the fire.  At least my fire was civilised.  Pork into the oven early afternoon but it just would not get hot.  Even though it was in for five hours, the crackling didn't get properly crackling.  It was ok, but not great.  Anyways, everyone else had a good time and enjoyed the food.  Came home with a 1L decor container of leftover pork and mashed potato.

Came home Sunday morning and then tried to have an actual weekend.

This afternoon I had the spaced-out feeling and cough that could indicate only one thing - that I'm getting sick :(  Not happy.

Didn't get much done tonight on account of not really feeling like it.

But I did scan twelve more USA 2004 photos of mum's, including this one, which is quite fun.

Bald Eagle Attack

Taken in Montana, near Glacier National Park.  Apparently it's not there anymore which is pretty sad.

Worked from home Tuesday.  Was feeling better but continued to sniffle the rest of the week.

Quiet week otherwise.  Work not too busy so had time to get a lot of my cleaning work done.

Last night we watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.  I had no idea what it was about before seeing it.  It was definitely a bit of tear jerker.  Ok so the plot was probably a bit unrealistic but the characters were good (and to all the critics who thought the kid was annoying to them I say "have you ever MET a kid with aspergers??").  A bit long, but enjoyed it.

Yeah so I got sick.  Fun.  Not.  I blame Ray.

Felt a bit blah yesterday.  We still did food shopping though.  Did a few bits and pieces and some of the jigsaw.  In the evening we watched Anon which was quite interesting and we enjoyed it.

Today was just more feeling blah.  Again with just house bits and pieces, photo labelling, and jigsaw.

Also, Vince Matsko replied yesterday to an email I sent him last year with a photo of the geodesic icosahedron .. I might have squeed just a little bit :)

Oh yes, a week ago!

Last Sunday we went for a walk with Kit.  We went out to Shepherd's lookout, then walked all the way down to the river.

Work was pretty busy this week.

Wednesday morning I woke up with a cold sore.  Yay.  Thursday Stu was sick with a cold, went to work for the last half day of training, but took Friday off.

Thursday Neil and I did 7ks of walking at lunch.  His knees were not thanking him afterwards for that!

Friday had lunch with the Chrises which was nice.  In the evening just watched some Voyager with the sweetie and got some very nice Mills and Grills pizzas.

Recovering

| | Comments (1)

We've had a pretty quiet week.  We did go down to Kit's for a little while last night though which was nice.

This morning we got up relatively early .. scratch that.. Stu got up relatively early .. I'd been awake since 5:30am on account of having a sore spine from our dumb mattress.  Anyway.  Got ready and went to the farmers markets.  I actually find the farmer's markets somewhat stressful - too many crowds and too many transactions to get stuff from multiple vendors.  We had pies before we started, which were stressful in themselves due to having nowhere comfortable to sit to eat them.

Did a load of linen washing, fixed the hinge in the laundry door (the pin had almost worked its way out), and fought with our network for ages.  I still can't get the NAS working on the Cisco switch (which turns out to be unmanaged, so can't see any sort of logs), and one of the network cameras (which I swear was working this morning) is also being a poo.

Went to Coles in the afternoon and remembered why I hate it so much - there's still no trolley bays in much of the car park, so you have to walk your trolley all the way back into the shopping centre to get your money back.  Fills me with so much rage.

Got invited over to EffanC's, but we're still potentially contagious, so decided not to go.

Have been resizing holiday photos, but geotagging is super painful due to our super awful internet right now.  Our SNR Margin is 15.  Our loop attenuation is 66.  According to Draytek our internet shouldn't work at all....

Gastro

| | Comments (0)

You know how Stu came down with gastro the morning after we got home?  Well try as we might to avoid passing the germs on, I still managed to get it.  First sign was before lunch yesterday, so decided to come home.  Was actually fine for the afternoon, and worked from home, albeit very slowly with our terrible internet.  Was unwell last night but at least I wasn't sick (I think I got a milder case).  Decided to work from home again today (again, with super slow internet).

I've geotagged two days worth of photos, and selected highlights from day 1.

East China Sea GPS track

In case anyone missed me.. I've been cruising the East China Sea .. (see link in Holiday Blogs section).

So we got back on Sunday morning (thanks to Chrissie for picking us up from the airport!!).  While we were away they'd had problems one night with the alarm (went off for no good reason, and they couldn't find a spider).  There was also a problem with the back door not locking properly - the door has warped a little, possibly from all the humidity from the evaporative cooling, and so can't be locked unless you push the lock up quite hard.

Also, the internet was dead.  Something to deal with later.

Went to pick up something for lunch and for dinner.

After lunch I slept for about two hours, the sweetie most of the afternoon.

I had a go at fixing the internet.  Rebooting the router didn't help.  Nor did rebooting the wifi (not that I thought that would do anything, on account of my pc is wired, and it wasn't even getting an IP address).  So I kicked the switch.  And everything came back.

Mostly.

My computer got an IP address and got back on the network.  But the NAS never came back.  Rebooted it.  Cold rebooted it.  Nothing.

We've had no end of trouble with all the Cisco gear we bought a few years back.  The 887 router just couldn't deal with our crappy phone line and would drop out and not come back til it was rebooted.  The WAP was pathetic and also kept dropping out.  We replaced both of them.  Now the switch has crapped out.  Anyone have any gigabit switches going begging?

Cooked sausages for dinner and we had a very early night.

And then woke up at 4:30 to the sweetie having a massive diarrhoea attack.  He was sick all day the poor thing.  I'm guessing a gastro virus picked up at the airport or on the plane.  So now it's the ticking time bomb of will I get it too..

Tonight I cooked myself dinner and gave the sweetie rice crackers for dinner.

And then fought with the NAS some more.  The thing has two network cables, but neither were giving a link light.  Given that the switch had spazzed out, I tried plugging them into a small 100mb switch we had lying around.  Sure enough, got link lights and the thing just started working!  So now I'm copying photos off the laptop at 100Mb/s (well actually about 9MB/s).  I really need to console onto the switch and find out what's up with it.

And we also really need to get our internet fixed.  Last night it was practically unusable.  It was a lot better earlier this evening, but has gone back to being almost unusable.  *sigh*

I've been sick this week.  Got a sore throat on Sunday night, felt all fuzzy on Monday (I should have stayed home), worked from home Tuesday to keep my sniffles to myself, and have felt better but coughing a lot the rest of the week.

Last night we took a couple of Dr Octopus pizzas down to Kit's for dinner and had a pretty relaxing evening.  When we came back up there was a huge huntsman in the entrance way, so we caught it and Stu said I should take it and show Kit.  So I did.  And then she fed it to her frogs.  !!  Poor spider..!!

Tonight we watched Oliver Stone's Snowden.  Quite well done and we both enjoyed it.

Cough

| | Comments (0)

Wednesday night I started coughing.  Spent the next few days feeling like crap.  And the next few days coughing non-stop.  Fun times.  Not.

Saturday we fed about seventy people at the club.  The sweetie had to do most of the food preparation though, because I didn't want to spread germs.

Club after party

Club after party

Club after party

Dave and Kat came up for the weekend too which was nice, other than feeling like crap of course.

My back hurts, I think from all the coughing :(

Where'd I get up to?

Thursday night we had a whiskey tasting night.  Nothing really stood out for me.  Mostly because Neil didn't get any peaty whiskeys heh.  The four Scottish ones were much the same (one was slightly rougher than the others).  The Nikka was probably my favourite, just because of the hint of smoke.  Early night and slept reasonably well.

Whisky July

Whisky July

Friday I got a bunch of cleanup work done, then left early and headed with the sweetie down to the coast.  Stopped in Batemans Bay for dinner at KFC (bad move - they're even more inefficient than Belconnen and we took fifteen minutes to get our food!).  Chilled out at the house, and I started a jigsaw.

Saturday I finished the first jigsaw and moved onto a second.  Went to Myrtle Beach and even had a swim (well a wade really, I hadn't taken my glasses off and didn't want to lose them).  It was cold, but not freezing.  Couple of weirdos though - one meerkat and his wandering mate.  Yeup.  Saturday night we got pizzas from Steveo's.  We got three, but really only needed one.  Two tops - having some for breakfast we *still* brought home a full pizza!  Then watched Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull to see if it was as bad as we remembered.  It was.  And then some.

Today I finished the second jigsaw and decided to squeeze in a third while the sweetie did reading for uni.  Then cleaned up and came home.

Blue coast view

Almost hit two kangaroos - one on the way down on Friday night, and one on the way out to Myrtle Beach.  The second one was panicking and actually slipped over on the road in front of us.  We'd slowed right down though so it was all fine.  The first one just bounced gently across the road in front of us but didn't do anything stoopid.

Tried to doze on the way home but didn't succeed.

I'm still sick with this damned cold.  Stuffed up nose so haven't been able to breathe in days.  I didn't feel like doing *anything* when I got home.  So *blip* there goes another weekend with nothing achieved at home :(  (I did manage to look at and geotag day 22 of the holiday though, so I guess that's *something*).

Exhaustion

| | Comments (2)

Sunday I got sick.  Felt like crap.

Monday morning I still felt like crap and had a sore throat and a bit of a cough.  So stayed at home and rested (in front of movies - Star Trek Into Darkness and The Martian) and attempted to doze (failed).  Of course since I'd rested all day I didn't actually feel tired on Monday night did I?? Took hours to get to sleep :(

Tuesday felt somewhat better (although super tired) so went to work.  Had pizza with Potty and Jake in the evening and watched Independence Day.  At 9:15pm, possibly as a result of power surges from the storm (various parts of Canberra lost power) our main power circuit tripped.  Flicked it back on.  Then at midnight it tripped again.  Disconnected the printer even though I knew it wouldn't be that.  At 2am it tripped again!  Gah!  Having been expecting it to keep tripping, I really didn't sleep at all.  At the 2am wakeup I disconnected the big fish tank.  As I was pulling the power, it tripped again!  So fairly likely it was that tank doing it.  Managed to sleep the rest of the night, but was a zombie today.

Oh also at 2am two random dogs came to say hi when I went outside.  Never seen them before (for a second I thought one of them was Petal).  No collars on either of them so couldn't call the owners.  They wanted to come inside but our house isn't setup for it so left them be (my nerves were frazzled enough I couldn't really deal with random dogs in the middle of the night).  Hope they made it home ok.

Tonight we went and got a new heater for that tank (it's always the heaters that do the tripping).  So far so good.  Is there some device you can get that will trip the power before the whole house circuit breakers trip?  Aren't those power boards with surge protectors meant to do that sort of thing?

Also sad is that my computer doesn't seem to recognise the UPS anymore.  It knows it's there, but doesn't recognise when it's gone onto battery mode :(

Fuzzy

So Friday night after the hot water dramas, headed out with Kit and Serena for a couple of drinks at the George.  Then came home and had a nice early night.

Saturday spent pretty much the whole day alternating between Nonogram puzzles and housework.  Tidied the spare room, the bedroom, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, vacuumed half the house, washed some sheets.  I think that was all.  Then Potty and Jake arrived so chilled out with them for the rest of the arvo.  Cooked a lamb roast for dinner.

Today we had a fairly lazy start to the day.  I might have gotten more stuff done in the afternoon, but I started feeling fuzzy like I'm coming down with something.  This time there's a bit of a cough as well.  *sigh*  So really didn't get anything much done today :(  The sweetie has been feeling pretty blah too - all weekend in fact.  Fun times.. not.. :(

Wins and Losses

| | Comments (0)

Had a fairly decent weekend last weekend.  Got quite a few things done on the todo list, including renewing my domain names (kazza.id.au has been in existence for fourteen years today!), vacuuming and cleaning out the pool, washing the sheets, installing windows 10 on my little laptop (and the GPS software still works hurrah!), cleaning the kitchen, some fish tank work, food shopping and cooking.  Didn't do the house vacuuming though.

In between we had our work ball, which I'll get some photos online for eventually.

This week was a very strange week.  We had several farewell events for the Chrises including a long lunch on Wednesday.  Gonna miss them.  It also seems certain that we will lose literally the best bar in Canberra.  And our carpark.  All very depressing.  Got some work done in between, although wasn't terribly motivated.

I also got grumpy this week at Insight Vacations who have been ignoring my emails.  And at myself for not registering for the last Ingress Anomoly - which means the hundreds of jarvises, adas, cubes, bursters etc that I donated to the cause will have been for nothing :(

Our pool froze over twice during the week.  And yesterday the power tripped early in the morning which means the fish tank heaters didn't work all day, and we lost some fish in the smallest tank :(

Pool ice

Have been spending mornings scanning mum's photos.  Two weeks to scan each album, give or take.  So one down this morning, four more to go until the next swap-meet when I can get some more.

And I have this odd sort of feeling that I'm coming down with something.

Coming back slowly

| | Comments (0)

So after several nights of reasonable sleep, last night I went to bed at 10pm and didn't get to sleep til 3am.

#grunt

So took another sick day today.  Even actually managed a little more sleep which is rare.

And this afternoon and this evening the cough is starting to lessen.. finally!

Sick

| | Comments (0)

Still sick.  Have so far spent the entire weekend feeling miserable.  Other than not being able to sleep and watching quite a few videos, all I managed to achieve was creating the Enlightened logo in Lego, and rename the 800 photos I took on film from 1992-1999 with a filename containing the date, roll and frame number.  Actually didn't take all that long.  I also figured out that it's quite possible that dad had never scanned the first thousand photos he had.  It looks like he was working his way backwards through his photos - the ones he had from 1999 were scanned just before he was diagnosed with his brain tumour.  Doesn't explain why the excel files with the labels are missing though.

Enlightened Logo in Lego

I was thinking I might be able to work from home tomorrow, but if I'm feeling as crappy as I do now I might even reconsider that :/
