For dinner we were going to get takeaway from the Dumpling Inn, but they weren't answering their phone, so we ended up going to Kinh Do, which was pretty good. Well the pork and chicken were, the tofu smelt a bit like dishwater heh :)
So all in all a very pleasant afternoon/evening.
They got us a 2009 Bunny Suicide calendar too which is pretty funny :)
On Saturday I had the urge to play some Unreal Tournament, having not played it for quite a while. Mostly I did crap, but sometimes I did well..
Tried to play with Stu, but either or both of our firewalls got in the way, even when bypassed/disabled, and we didn't feel up to fighting with it.
Well it never worked from Windows 2000 onwards, so I haven't played it in a *very* long time.
But was I was backing up my computer tonight I noticed it again and asked Stu if he had dos 6 on disks anywhere so I could setup a virtual machine to play all my old games. He said just use dosbox. So I did! And dredged up the memories of playing this rather fun little game...
Didn't really get a whole lot done, but still was a nice day.
This morning our fireplace caught another sparrow (three died in there while we were on our honeymoon :( ). Spent ages chasing it round the living room. In fact I even had it pinned by the tail feathers at one point, only to have all the tail feathers come adrift and it get away :(
But I did manage to catch it eventually, and off it flew into the trees.
Then we went over to Damien's for lunch and games.
Started the afternoon off with Guillotine, which was quite fun, and Stu won. Then a game of Carcassonne which Stu also won, but it was very close. And finally Killer Bunnies, which wasn't a whole lot better than last time, although much less complamicated without all the extra expansion sets. It really is a rather pointless game. Damien won that one in the end.
Finally home for home-made pizzas and some Star Trek.
Yesterday afternoon Damien came over and stayed for dinner.
Aside from a lot of talk about miniature wargamming, conversation and nibblies were very pleasant.
We watched an episode of Star Trek while eating our dinner of roast kangaroo and potato bake, which the boys were quite impressed with.
Afterward we played The Gardens of the Alhambra, which Damien won (pictured purple below), and Gloom, which I won significantly by some stroke of luck.
Talk turned to musicals, and The Fiddler on the Roof, so we actually started watching that a bit before eleven. At midnight decided we were too tired and gave up watching.
A very pleasant evening.
