I've got a new blog.
A blog thirty years in the making.
That all started when I scanned a photo of us at the Canberra Times Fountain in Civic last year. I got the idea to recreate a family holiday to Canberra in 1986, with as many of the same shots as possible thirty years later in 2016. It was a lot of work and I procrastinated getting it online for a good six months. But it's finally done!
Here's a sample:
Have a look: Canberra 1986 - 2016
I wonder if the RiotACT would be interested...

Well I have certainly enjoyed a trip down memory lane. I've looked through the whole blog and I was impressed at the amount of time you spent re-creating the photos. As you said the growth of the trees was one of the biggest changes plus new buildings. Loved the Cherry blossom shots. I still remember my first visit to Canberra and the Science building was nicknamed the Eskimo Embassy.
Great job Karen! Hopefully some of the Canberra historians will also be interested as it is a great look at how as you said things have changed and some things have stayed the same.
PS I PUT THIS ENTRY ON THE LAST PAGE BUT THERE WAS NO SECURITY PICTURE TO TYPE IN, SO IT REJECTED IT THERE.

To do it properly, you need the original people too.

Well yes, but it was hard enough to coordinate things with just myself. And that's *even if* you had wanted to be in them (I'm sure you wouldn't :P )
