Could lose it
My little finger, which has essentially been bandaged non-stop for the last two weeks, smells funny. In a bad way. It looks perfectly fine, it's happy and dry and pink, it just smells, and there's a bit of a loss of sensitivity. Am risking going without anything on it for the moment, as the nail is mostly separated from the skin now..
Get some antibiotics....
I've had ingrown toenails - many times... I know that's totally different, but from what you say about the smell, trust me - it's infected. That might seem trivial, but for a select few, it isn't: Of all the ways to die, do you want it to be because of an infected nail?
If it's still bad on Thursday, see a doctor. In the meantime, pile on the medi-pulv (anti-septic powder).

April 25, 2007 8:54 AMPink is good it means it isn't bad YET...smell is bad sign.
Nails will grow back
Well, it's a public holiday today, so it'll have to wait until thursday...
Hehe... reading my "of all the ways to die" comment makes me realise I shouldn't drink and post. A bit over the top, but you should still see a doctor. :)
Or you could just pull the nail off and smother it with anti-septic...
