Telstra Sux!

Telstra sux. Truly. If you pay late, they slap a $5 fine on your next bill. You can pay by credit card, but they charge you a fee to do so. Their monthly rental on a couple of pieces of copper are criminal. It's like tripled in the past ten years.

I only make like three calls a quarter on my landline. The only reason I have it at all is for the ADSL. Does anyone in Sydney have a landline provider that charges less than $30/month rental?? Cause this is just getting ridiculous.

I had an issue with the O company few months back. So I got the company I have dialup thru (iinet) and got them to take over the landline and ADSL at Pinkys.
I mainly like them because, having worked for the T company (the evil empire!) I like iinet's philosophy. T will see customers and think "how can we get more out of them, give them less, and make sure they don't sue us". Whereas I've had my ADSL price drop twice since I started with them, and twice they've increased my data limit. Yes, INcreased.
And as I think I mentioned in my blog, their call centre publishes their call data (queue length, average call handling time etc) on their website. for the PUBLIC to see. T would be terrified they'd get sued if they did that. So I like II's philosophy.
Sorry for the long rant. Hope you get it sorted.

We go through B and they cost $25 plus $20 free local calls. Have you tried AAPT or optus etc??

The problem with all of this is I have an ADSL link through CIA (although technically it's actually a Telstra ADSL link that they resell). I need a landline to keep the ADSL, and not sure how much hassle it would be for the landline rental. But seriously, $92 for a phone bill when I only made 26 calls total is a bit ridiculous.
