100 things about Kazza the Blank One. Bren has had one of these for ages, and I've been thinking I should probably put one together. Just recently Dave and Dennis put theirs up, so I thought I would too. Some of my ideas were stolen shamelessly from them :)
- I was born on the 14th August 1973 at Sutherland Hospital in Sydney
- I have two parents and a little brother, all of whom are still alive
- I have one living grandparent
- I take care of computers for a living
- I get on better with computers than with people
- I keep tropical fish as pets in four tanks
- If I had the space I'd probably have a dog for the companionship and exercise, although I prefer cats to snuggle with
- I am a Lego freak. I spent a year and a half collecting space Lego off ebay. I also have all the Harry Potter Lego, with the exception of a few sets, and ~18000 bricks to make mosaics with
- I have read all five Harry Potter books three times each
- I have a major crush at the moment on Jason Isaacs
- Previous crushes have included David Bowie and Michael Keaton
- My favourite movie at the moment is Peter Pan
- My longest running favourite movie was Labyrinth
- I have a very big sweet tooth
- My favourite dinner is roast pork with crackling, gravy and apple sauce
- I could quite happily be a carnivore
- I have a very good immune system and I have no idea why. I don't eat enough vegetables for it to make sense that I rarely get sick
- My biggest all time dream/fantasy is that I could fly like Superman, just take off and zoom wherever I wanted to without any effort
- I discovered flying in 1983 when we went to America for the first time. At the time I didn't know there was such a thing as a female pilot so I thought I would become an air hostess. I could think of very few jobs that would be worser
- One would be collecting tolls in a toll booth
- I often feel "left out"
- I don't mind cooking, but I hate the mess it makes
- My least favourite household chore is the washing up. It takes so much time and I can't do it in my study where the tv/computer is
- I hate static electricity
- I hate people that push in
- I hate stupid people
- I am very impatient
- I am very obssessive
- I would like to get 8 hours sleep per night
- I usually only get 7
- I hate clutter, but I hate throwing things out
- I am therefore good at packing things into storage
- I have had three official boyfriends (although I've kissed a few more boys than that)
- Two of them I still like and respect, and even went to both of their weddings. The other is still a loser as far as I can tell
- I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up
- I am a Christian
- I believe if you are a Christian and not married by the age of 30 there must be something wrong with you
- I am 30 and single
- I am often bitter about this
- On the other hand, being single has its advantages in that you don't to ask anyone's permission to do anything. There's no accountability for my time and I can do whatever I like with it
- I have been to the USA three times, Canada once and New Zealand once
- I would like to spend at least three months in Europe, although perhaps not all at once
- I have owned two digital cameras
- I have owned two cars
- I have owned one flat, although I use "owned" loosely
- I rented for a year before buying this place, and only moved out of there because car number one was kidnapped from there and murdered a week later
- I was devastated and it triggered a year and a half of depression over that and everything else that was going on in my life
- I can program basic stuff in perl
- I would like to learn php, javascript, and vbscript if I had the time
- I give great massages. It's about my only real talent
- I want dvd manufacturers to decide on a standard before I go out and buy a hifi dvd recorder
- I wish they would do this soon because my old video tapes are dying and some of the stuff on them is irreplaceable
- I started blogging a year and a half ago because Vic told me I should
- I'm still at it, while he rarely posts
- I write my blog for me. I think it's totally amazing that anyone reads it, but I'm very glad that people do
- I have climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge twice, Mt Kosciusko twice, the stairs of Sydney Tower once, Ayers Rock (Uluru) once, the Statue of Liberty once
- My quest is always for altitude and I like to get to the highest points in cities, be it a tower or a nearby mountain to admire the view
- The only state I haven't been to in Australia is Tasmania
- I always eat breakfast
- I prefer to shower in the morning
- Walking through a spider web has to be the most creepy scary disgusting thing in the world
- I would love to travel more
- I would love to go skiing more, alas I've only been 6 days in two trips
- Bacon is my favourite meat, but anything off a pig is good
- I've broken one bone in my body - my left fifth metatarsal - while playing hockey
- I've never been arrested or pulled over for anything other than a random breath test
- I have had two parking tickets though
- The fastest I've driven a car was 215km/h in a WRX in Victoria. The car could have kept going easily, but I chickened out at that point. They don't just take away your licence at that speed, they throw you into jail
- The highest I've ever been on land is 11990 feet in Colorado
- I'm a windoze user
- I couldn't live without my mobile. Even though I rarely make calls and even more rarely receive calls, I feel disconnected if it's not there
- I couldn't live without my adsl. I used a modem for two weeks while changing providers and it was the longest two weeks of my life. Well maybe not really
- I'm a "morning" person
- That said, I hate getting up in the dark
- I've eaten blue vein cheese once. In 1987. It was terrible
- I prefer to type than write
- The only person whose blog I read that I've actually gone and met was Dave
- I liked him. A lot
- My favourite board game is Pictionary. I am quite good at it
- I drink up to a litre of orange juice a day. Maybe that is why my immune system is so good
- I have had my current best friend since 1996
- Unfortunately he is married so I can't do stuff with him that best friends normally would
- It takes a very special occasion to find me wearing anything other than jeans and a tshirt
- If I could be an animal I'd probably be either a sulphur crested cockatoo (cause they can talk and don't have to eat insects) or an eagle of some sort (cause they can just soar in the air for hours)
- I was always good at maths and science in school
- I beat over 90% of the state in my HSC
- I could have beaten more if I hadn't met my first boyfriend just before the HSC
- I've been in a long distance relationship once. It wasn't easy
- I have a pool, but rarely use it because I hate swimming alone
- I bought this place because it had a pool, and because a friend said I should buy a place with a pool so she could come over and swim in it. She's never once come over to swim in it
- I am bitter about this also
- I hold grudges for a very long time, if you hadn't already guessed
- It's one of my major flaws
- I escape by watching movies
- I prefer to watch movies than to read
- I have no thoughts on what I'll be doing in ten years time
- I vaguely worry that I'll get too old to be in IT, and won't be able to find work anywhere
- I like to learn new things (although technical reading bores me to death)
- I am hoping this will keep my brain active til I die
- I believe I'll go to heaven when I die

Hey, somebody likes me! I was on fairly good behavior for dinner... but once you get to know me, I'm a total bastard I assure you! Ask any of my friends. :-)

You must really like Legos. I came across the mosaic things you did today when I was looking for pictures of Superman. And go figure, you're from Australia too. Doesn't get much better than that. E-mail me sometime. Tell me all about Australia. I'd like to move there someday. And tell me some more about the mosaics... I'd like to give it a shot. Can it be done with photographs? where is this program? You rock my socks!

I am bitter about being single at 38. A very nice list.

You seem unhappy about somethings, and I don't think you even realize how lucky you are, To know what you want and care for in life. Some people spend a lifetime tring to find that out.

What do you mean by car number 1 in your #46 point. This mistafied me and thought it was a very somber point!
I have just found your Blog and find it intresting so keep up the good work!!!!!
kazza
It relates to point #44 about having owned two cars. The first one was stolen from the front of my house and crashed into another car a week later. I was devastated.

I am a 36 yr old, attatched female and seem to have a lot in common with you, including being born in the same hospital. You are obviously highly intelligent and seem to have a good grip on life.

>> I vaguely worry that I'll get too old to be in IT, and won't be able to find work anywhere <<
I have this worry as well -- though, being a bit older it may be more pronounced.
Just two days ago I was telling someone that I'd choose flying as my super power. What could be better?
marc
we already are in heaven!
Mike
Take up paragliding, it's so cool and gets the flying dream/fantasy off the ground!
Sutton
Hey!
I was googling for pictures of the Oregon Coast (gonna getaway with my wife), found your pictures (which I liked very much), had too look at em all, then I had to read a hunderd (sp) things about kazaa, and then don't you know I just had to tell you that I enjoyed the humor in it. (You were being humurous, no?) I wish that other guy would stop sticking parenthetical stuff in (Ignore him. He's an idiot)
Anyway, I'm 57 and I'm sure hoping that I get to a point where I can't work in DP, IS, oh wait, it's IT now! Ho hum.
Sincerely, Sutton
Nathan
