My brother has for a long time had a train disaster photo page entitled "oops", so naturally this is what I thought of for this week's Theme Thursday. But I didn't think I had much in the way of train disaster photos, and it's not exactly the sort of thing you can plan.
So ponder the week away, racking my brains trying to think of something to use. Come tonight and I'm no closer to finding anything. So it's back through the archives I trawl. Suddenly I see a genuine "oops" in the tradition of my brothers page...
Two 81 class locomotives on 9162 Dunmore to Sydney stone train derailed at the catch points at the Northern end of Unanderra.
I actually got this photo that my brother didn't get, as Dad and I walked back to a road overpass to look straight down the tracks, and the rather steep angle the locomotive veered out at. Pity I don't have more than 3x zoom on my camera :(
Have a look at the rest of my brother's photos, there's a spectacular shot of a completely shattered rail - that would have made a hell of a bang!

I have a derailment photo this week too. Mine is of toy trains. They are much easier to put back on the track.
