I had to shake my head at a customer email tonight. I'd love to post it, but chances are the person who wrote it would find this blog and go off (hey, it's happened). Essentially they didn't realise that an ODBC datasource name could be different to the name of the database they were trying to point it to. So when they had a different site with the same database name they wondered why they couldn't have the same datasource name .. *sigh*
